Marketing & Business Development Manager

Position Summary:

The Marketing & Business Development Manager works closely with the Director of Marketing & Business Development, all members of the MBD department and practice group leaders to build the profile of the firm and its practice groups.  The Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing effective marketing and business development strategies for assigned practice groups. Reports to the Director of Marketing and Business Development

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify, develop and implement effective marketing and business development strategies for assigned practice groups.
  • Creation of relevant key messages and general marketing materials; including the development of new practice profile descriptions and matter lists.
  • Manage Proposal/RFP process in its entirety.  Work with stakeholders to identify differentiators and value propositions, prepare response and conduct debriefs following a win/loss.
  • Draft content for marketing collateral materials and ensure all relevant practice area materials are updated on the firm’s intranet and external website.
  • Working in conjunction with Marketing Communications, manage survey submission development for practice areas as assigned.
  • Leverage marketing and business development technology platforms, including CRM, experience management, analytics, and email marketing tools, to drive client development initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct industry research and develop knowledge about the firm’s referral sources, clients and industries.
  • Identify and recommend new products and processes to assist in business development efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and General Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years professional experience in marketing and/or business development, preferably in legal or a professional services environment.
  • Hybrid schedule (minimum of 3 days per week in-person in the NY Office)
  • Target salary range: $115,000-$140,000
