Litigation Counsel
Location: Remote | Travel primarily for legal matters, with additional travel as needed

We are now seeking a skilled Litigator to join our growing team; this role offers an opportunity to navigate complex legal disputes across a diverse portfolio of companies, working directly with senior leadership to resolve litigation matters efficiently and strategically.
The Role
Human Agency is seeking an experienced and highly capable Litigator to oversee and manage legal disputes across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on Delaware, New York, Massachusetts, and Missouri law. The Litigator will play a central role in arbitration, litigation, and dispute resolution while advising senior leadership on strategic legal approaches.
The role is fully remote, with travel primarily required for court appearances, depositions, mediations, and other litigation-related activities. The Litigator will collaborate closely with Legal Counsel, senior leadership, and external counsel for specialized legal support.
Key Responsibilities

Litigation Management: Handle legal disputes across multiple jurisdictions, including arbitration, mediation, litigation, injunctions, and other proceedings.

Court Representation: Serve as the company’s in-house litigator, representing the organization in court or alternative dispute resolution settings as needed.

Legal Documentation: Oversee the drafting and filing of complaints, motions, and other legal documents while ensuring compliance with state-specific requirements.

Legal Strategy: Develop and execute litigation strategies that align with the company’s goals, mitigating risk and minimizing costs.

Multi-Jurisdictional Expertise: Navigate legal matters governed by Delaware, New York, Massachusetts, Missouri, and other applicable jurisdictions.

Cross-Functional Support: Provide insights and legal expertise to broader business operations, including risk management and compliance.

Collaboration with External Counsel: Partner with external counsel for specialized litigation matters, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential legal risks and implement strategies to address them before they escalate.
Your Background | Experience + Traits
Required:

Experience: 8+ years of experience in commercial litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution. Substantial expertise in Delaware, New York, Massachusetts, or Missouri law is essential.

Litigation Expertise: Proven ability to independently manage cases through all stages of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and settlement negotiations.

Multi-Jurisdictional Practice: Demonstrated capability in handling litigation across multiple jurisdictions with varying laws and procedures.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop litigation strategies that align with broader business objectives.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting compelling legal arguments and effectively collaborating with stakeholders.

Work Environment
- Remote Role: Fully remote position with travel primarily for litigation matters, such as court appearances, depositions, or mediations. Occasional business-related travel may be required.

Compensation:
- Base Salary: $175,000 - $300,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- Performance-Based Incentives: Outcome-based incentives tied to successful legal outcomes and overall company performance, with the potential for additional compensation.
