Recruiting & People Operations Associate

United States, Remote

hi-logo

Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.

More than half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future. Too often, it’s because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium-sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.

We’re a high-growth fintech company changing the retirement industry. We are backed by a number of investors. This includes funding from Marshall Wace and Baillie Gifford, as well as top investors such as BlackRock, TPG (The Rise Fund), SoftBank, Glynn Capital, NewView Capital, USVP, Wing, Uncork, and more.

About the role

As a Recruiting & People Operations Associate, you are the heartbeat of the Talent and People functions. You don’t just bridge the gap between hiring and employment; you own the entire transition. This role is designed for a process-driven operator who sees Recruiting and People Ops as a single, unified experience. You will optimize the systems that power our hiring funnel while simultaneously maintaining the HR infrastructure that supports our employees throughout their tenure.

What you get to do every day

Recruiting Operations & Coordination

  • Complex Scheduling: Own the end-to-end interview lifecycle for the Talent Acquisition team, managing complex, multi-time zone calendars with speed and precision.
  • ATS Management (Greenhouse): Act as a power user for Greenhouse, ensuring all requisitions, candidate stages, templates, and interview plans are updated, compliant, and optimized for data reporting.
  • Tech Stack & Data Governance: Support the rollout and maintenance of recruiting tools (e.g., BrightHire, LinkedIn Recruiter) and maintain a "Systems Playbook" that documents standard operating procedures to ensure team-wide consistency.
  • Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the hiring funnel and propose operational solutions to improve hiring velocity.

People Ops & Systems Administration

  • Lifecycle Management: Own the "Pre-Hire to Hire" journey, managing the seamless hand-off from Greenhouse to Workday. This includes ensuring 100% data accuracy for new hire profiles and headcount tracking across both platforms.
  • Onboarding & Compliance: Lead the I-9 verification process and conduct regular audits of employee digital files to ensure we are always audit-ready.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders in IT, L&D, and Facilities to ensure a flawless "hand-off" from the recruiting stage to the first day of onboarding.
  • People Team Service Delivery: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, managing Tier 1 People Team tickets with a focus on accuracy and timely resolution.
  • Total Rewards Support: Oversee the employee referral program, tracking eligibility and coordinating with Payroll to ensure timely and accurate bonus payouts.

What you bring to the role

  • Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in Recruiting Coordination, People Ops, or an Administrative role within a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
  • Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with Workday and Greenhouse is essential; you understand how to manage the flow of data between an ATS and an HRIS.
  • Detail Obsession: You take pride in "clean data" and understand that a small error in a Workday entry, an I-9 audit, or an offer letter has a significant impact on the employee experience.
  • Master of Logistics: You can solve the "Tetris" of conflicting schedules while maintaining a customer-centric mindset for candidates and hiring managers.
  • HR Literacy: A solid understanding of onboarding compliance (e.g., I-9s, labor law posters) and a desire to grow your career within the broader People Operations landscape.
  • Remote Proficiency: Highly skilled in Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace to collaborate effectively across a geographically dispersed team.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

How do you know if you have a disability?
