Graphic Designer — AI Training Project (Remote, Flexible, Up to $25/hr)

International

About HumanSignal

Real-world data is the competitive edge in AI.

HumanSignal is a human data partner for companies building AI models and products. Our customers ship better AI, faster, because we partner with their researchers from real-world data creation to annotation to delivery.

We design and create datasets from scratch, recruit and manage the domain experts who evaluate model output, and run everything through our own platform, Label Studio, the open-source standard for data labeling and evaluation, used by over 1 million practitioners worldwide.

We specialize in the operationally complex: real-world data collection, multimodal pipelines, and multi-step workflows. Advanced ML and AI teams use our enterprise platform to run their own data factories, and our services team to extend their reach where in-house capacity runs out.

If you want to do work that materially shapes how the next generation of AI products gets built, we'd love to talk.

Put your design eye to work training AI

We're teaching AI models to understand what makes design work — and we need experienced graphic designers to show them. You'll evaluate professionally designed layouts, identify where the design falls short, and use your craft to bring it up to standard. Your design judgment becomes training data that helps AI learn to evaluate visual quality the way a designer does.

This is flexible, fully remote work you can fit around your schedule — ideal for freelancers, career-changers, or designers between projects who want steady paid hours over the next several weeks.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate professional designs across the dimensions that matter: typography, visual hierarchy, color, layout, and overall polish
  • Spot design issues — some as subtle as a font choice, others calling for more substantial rework
  • Apply your design skills in a browser-based editor to bring the work up to a cohesive, professional standard
  • Work through a steady volume of designs while keeping your quality and judgment consistent
  • Flag edge cases and unclear examples to help us sharpen our guidelines

What you bring

  • Formal design training (degree, certificate, or bootcamp) or 3+ years of professional graphic design experience
  • Strong command of design fundamentals: composition, color theory, typography, visual hierarchy
  • Fluency with browser-based design tools — you can execute quickly and cleanly
  • A calibrated, objective eye: you evaluate against design principles, not personal taste
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to stay consistent through repetitive tasks
  • Availability of 10+ hours per week for the next 2–6 weeks

Nice to have

  • Experience reviewing or critiquing others' work (art direction, design QA, teaching, or mentorship)
  • Prior AI/data annotation work

Why join

You'll get paid, flexible, fully remote design work with a fast onboarding and training process — and you'll be contributing to cutting-edge AI that's learning how to see design. Contributors who deliver consistently high-quality work get first access to extended hours and future paid projects.
