Senior Product Manager

About Us

Hungryroot is your partner in healthy living. We get to know your lifestyle, budget, health objectives, and preferences, and we recommend and deliver nutritious groceries, easy recipes and essential supplements for you and your family. It’s the easiest way to eat healthy, achieve your goals, save time at the store and in the kitchen, and live a healthy (and delicious) life. Founded on the belief that food is the foundation of health, convenience should not mean compromise, and we’re all unique in how we eat and live, Hungryroot is building a future in which healthy living is easy and enjoyable.

We are a distributed team built on top talent from over 28 states across the U.S. While we have a headquarters in New York City, we support employees working from wherever they are based. We believe in fostering team connection and collaboration across all of our employees' locations. Expect to attend regular team building events and an annual company retreat. Expect to be treated like an owner who cares about our common goal, not someone who has to clock in and out of work.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our growing Product team. Product Managers drive product optimizations and features, from independently run experiments to major product decisions. Backed by strong analytical skills and business acumen, and inspired both by our loyal community, our PMs develop insights that lead to new ideas and work with our best in class engineering, data science and operations teams to build Hungryroot’s next beloved feature.

This role will report to our Principal Product Manager and will embolden our mission to serve as our customers’ personal assistant for healthy living, helping them feel better on a daily basis and have more time to do what they love. A natural extension of our current focus is to better support the full spectrum of our customers’ wellness goals: nutrition, fitness, sleep, mental, emotional, social, and environmental. In doing so, we will become more deeply integrated into our customers’ lives, and we’ll generate a self-reinforcing flywheel that builds continuous momentum and enhances customer value.

It’s a big mission, and even though we've made a lot of headway, we still have work to do — and that’s where you come in!

Responsibilities

  • Drive product features through their entire creative cycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iteration
  • Establish the product vision and strategy for your product set/feature
  • Build alignment across all cross-functional stakeholders and leadership team
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research to explore and validate feature ideas
  • Partner with product designers to ensure delightful user experience
  • Work with engineers to help guide feature development
  • Perform experiment analysis on features and find opportunities for optimization

Qualifications

  • Experience leading the end to end product lifecycle for large and complex initiatives
  • An instinct for creating simple and intuitive user experiences
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and customer-centric mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, curious, innovative and proactive
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to think creatively, take calculated risks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and influence different levels of the organization in a remote setting
  • Desire to make healthy living easier through technology, food and personalization
  • Excitement about using AI and ML to deliver best in class product experiences

Perks & Benefits

  • Remote-first: work from home, work from our NYC office, work from anywhere in the U.S. - you decide!
  • Equity
  • Unlimited vacation policy
  • Universal paid parental leave
  • Monthly Hungryroot credit for delicious, healthy groceries
  • Comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance
  • Wellbeing benefits including One Medical, Spring Health, LiveHealth, Rightway care concierge, and more
  • 401k
  • A work from home stipend to support your initial home-office setup

Expected Pay Range
$140,000 - $165,000

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
