ABOUT THE ROLE

As Director of M&A and Valuation, you will report directly to the CFO and play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and executing high-impact transactions that align with our strategic goals. Leveraging your extensive expertise in M&A, corporate finance, and valuation, you will drive both asset-level and corporate-level transactions, focusing on the energy, data center, and colocation sectors. This is a high-visibility role where you will work directly with senior leadership, external stakeholders, and industry leaders to unlock new opportunities and maximize value. 

Some of the key responsibilities you can expect are the following: 

M&A Strategy & Execution 

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of asset-level and corporate M&A transactions, both buy-side and sell-side. 
  • Develop and maintain a robust corporate M&A target list to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities. 
  • Manage transaction workflows, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, structuring, and negotiations. 
  • Ensure seamless coordination across internal teams and external advisors to deliver on key deal milestones.  

Activism & Defense 

  • Have experience in or familiarity with activism situations, including corporate governance, valuation, and tactics. 
  • Develop a robust internal framework for dealing with potential activists and have the ability to communicate response strategy with key internal stakeholders. 

Valuation & Analysis 

  • Conduct comprehensive valuation analysis for potential acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives. 
  • Prepare detailed financial models and investment cases to support decision-making and deal approvals. 

Client and Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing insights on deal structuring, market dynamics, and valuation. 
  • Build and nurture relationships with institutional investors, strategic partners, and financial sponsors to facilitate deal execution. 

Industry Expertise & Market Intelligence 

  • Leverage deep knowledge of energy infrastructure, power markets, and data center operations to guide strategic initiatives. 
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities. 

ABOUT YOU

  • 7+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity, with a focus on M&A and valuation. 
  • Proven track record of executing high-value transactions, including buy-side and sell-side mandates. 
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with expertise in valuation and transaction structuring. 
  • Extensive network within the data center, energy, colocation, and related sectors. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with C-suite executives, Board members and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or engineering (MBA or CFA designation preferred).
