We are proud to offer interesting and challenging opportunities for individuals who want to build teams, solve problems, and make an impact from day one. If you’re an ambitious individual looking for a career that is as rewarding as it is challenging, you’ve come to the right place.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Logistics Manager will serve as the central hub for all logistics operations related to the development and construction of Hut 8's infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for tracking, coordinating, and forecasting the movement of equipment, materials, and assets across project sites — ensuring the right items arrive at the right place, at the right time, within budget.
This role is critical to ensuring visibility and control over all shipments, site deliveries, and asset tracking — both for in-transit and on-site items. The ideal candidate is highly organized, forward-thinking, and thrives in a fast-paced construction and development environment. They are expected to build and standardize our logistics processes, manage vendor relationships, and act as a single source of truth for field teams, engineers, and leadership alike.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
Logistics Strategy & Execution
- Oversee the end-to-end movement of materials, equipment, and components across multiple active and upcoming Hut 8 project sites.
- Own all shipment tracking, delivery coordination, and site receipt documentation across the company.
- Develop and implement standardized logistics workflows, including shipping schedules, routing plans, and delivery windows.
Asset Tracking & Site-Level Visibility
- Maintain real-time awareness of all Hut 8-owned equipment, including what's in-transit, on-site, in storage, or being returned.• Deploy and manage tools (QR codes, barcode systems, asset tracking platforms) to ensure nothing is misplaced or delayed.
- Collaborate with site managers to verify deliveries, update inventory, and support layout planning based on expected assets.
Vendor & Carrier Management
- Build relationships and negotiate terms with freight forwarders, carriers, riggers, equipment handlers, and warehousing partners.
- Coordinate LTL/FTL shipments, international freight, flatbeds, cranes, oversized loads, and sensitive electrical equipment transportation.
- Ensure all logistics partners meet Hut 8's standards for safety, timeline adherence, and delivery accountability.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Track logistics costs for all project scopes and provide budget forecasts, actuals, and variance reports to leadership.
- Work with the procurement and finance teams to ensure alignment between logistics planning and CapEx forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to optimize spend, consolidate shipments, or avoid storage and delay penalties.
Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure timelines, equipment needs, and delivery expectations are fully aligned.
- Provide site teams with advanced notice of incoming deliveries, shipment delays, and any changes to asset arrival sequences.
- Act as a bridge between vendors and field operations, ensuring zero ambiguity around what is expected, when, and where.
Compliance, Documentation & Risk Management
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with federal, state, and local transport regulations - especially for oversized and energy equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation including Bills of Lading, packing lists, damage reports, and delivery confirmations.
- Create contingency plans for high-risk or long-lead shipments to reduce exposure to project delays.
ABOUT YOU
