ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Manager, Accounting at Hut 8, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and compliance with accounting principles. You will play a key role in managing financial processes, leading a team of accounting professionals, and supporting the company’s overall financial goals. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting.
Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Month-end Close: Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including review and approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Shared-based compensation: Manage the share-based compensation and equity accounting processes, including transactional, accounting close, internal controls and financial reporting.
- Research accounting: Research guidance from the FASB, SEC and other regulatory bodies to evaluate the impact of complex share-based compensation arrangements and accounting transactions.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors during annual audits. Prepare audit schedules and support audit inquiries.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster professional growth and development.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and automation where applicable.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and human resources, to support business initiatives and resolve financial issues.

ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management roles working at a Big 4 firm.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
