Precision Sales Apprentice

Job overview

The goal of this position is to provide a supervised work experience for you to build your expertise and proficiency in the agricultural equipment and precision ag industry to prepare you for a sales position within Hutson. In this position you will learn all aspects of Hutson’s business, including Sales, Precision Ag technology, Parts and Service. It is the responsibility of Hutson to provide direct, on the job supervision which includes orientation of the company’s structure, operations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Regional Precision Specialist with precision farming packages, Greenstar setups, and product demos.
  • Setting up customers on Operations Center and driving customer adoption
  • Learning precision ag technology solutions and assisting sales team to apply these solutions.
  • Assisting Agronomist and Data Manager as needed.
  • Assisting the sales department to learn sales value selling, sales processes and quoting
  • Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior.
  • Adhering to company policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information.
  • Assuming personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with company employees, customers and so forth.
  • Utilizing a courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures within the profession.
  • Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the company setting.
  • Developing a self-awareness in regard to attitudes, values, behavior patterns, and so forth that influence work.
  • Support management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.
  • Foster a great place to work environment, encouraging accountability, open communication, teamwork, and a commitment to serving the customer.
  • Participate in all business and/or department activities related to ensuring the customer experience is positive.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills, internet function, and typing skills.
  • Willing to learn new concepts.
  • Self-motivated and eager to take on new tasks.
  • Verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive and operate large agricultural equipment.
  • The ability to work independently or with other employees.
  • The ability to communicate face-to-face.

Additional requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card is required.

Working Conditions

  • General Physical Requirements:
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, Standing, Walking, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, and Repetitive Motions.
  • Visual Acuity:
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (includes inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
