Commercial Sales Specialist

Job overview
This position is responsible for developing a successful sales strategy for Hutson’s Commercial product segments through a systematic relationship building process.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute sales activities focused on Business to Business (B2B) relationships for both traditional and new & emerging customer segments.
- Selling and supporting Hutson’s full product portfolio to key B2B customers which include landscaping, construction, manufacturing & warehousing.
- Business development of key markets through prospecting of customers through research, cold calling, scheduling visits, identifying key influencers, analyzing sales history data, etc.
- Meets sales volume and sales objectives on assigned key customer accounts.
- Increase Market Share in assigned territory by making job site visits, office calls and attending associational meetings.
- Maintains current product knowledge of all CCE, turf, manitou & small tractor equipment, parts, and services available to customer accounts.
- Ability to load, unload and secure equipment and safely transport to demo sites.
- Demonstrate the features and advantages of the equipment to customers in the field.
- Clearly explain the advantages of becoming a Hutson business partner.
- Influences customer account trade cycles for current and future needs.
- Monitors trends in customer’s business activities and timely communicates to management.
- Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods.
- Utilizes Hutson’s Customer Relationship Manager system diligently and consistently to facilitate prioritization, frequency, and viability of both potential and current customers.
- Maintains assigned company vehicles and equipment.
- Support management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.

- Participate in all business and/or department activities related to ensuring the customer experience is positive.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.

Qualifications
- 5 or more years of equipment sales experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/accounting, or agriculture-related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment as well as technology trends/advancements.
- Business, financial and logistical management knowledge.
- Knowledge of relevant agronomic practices and trends.
- Knowledge of the construction, landscape and/or equipment rental segments. Ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Excellent customer relationship skills with current and future decision makers.
Additional requirements
- Valid Driver’s License required. CDL preferred.

Working Conditions
- General Physical Requirements:
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, Standing, Walking, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, and Repetitive Motions. Candidate must be able to load, secure, and unload equipment on a trailer.
- Visual Acuity:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (includes inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
