Aftermarket Outside Sales Representative

Job overview
To build and expand key customer relationships while seeking new customer relationships through the promotion of a suite of Hutson Aftermarket products. The purpose of this role is to broaden the Hutson customer base by providing premier customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Sales and Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain a network of customers in an assigned sales territory, focusing on existing and potential business opportunities.
- Solicit parts and service opportunities, such as extended warranties, maintenance plans, machine inspections, overhauls, job quotes, and special parts promotions.
- Profile customer machines, vehicles, and demographic information to tailor sales approaches and services.
- Perform follow-up calls and post-sale customer visits, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction with equipment and services.
- Assist the Sales department with post-sale customer visits to ensure equipment operates to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and successfully transition them into active sales.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction by managing day-to-day business needs, addressing disputes promptly, and ensuring seamless service from start to finish.
- Maintain contact with existing customers in relation to their needs and ensure ongoing satisfaction.
- Plan territory coverage and regularly visit key accounts, leveraging CRM for reporting and sales tracking.
- Provide limited technical support as needed.
- Sales Performance and Strategy:
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales and profit objectives, ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas are met or exceeded.
- Continuously achieve weekly conversion rates and dedicate time to prospecting for new accounts.
- Utilize creative sales techniques to meet targets, increase market share, and enhance customer relationships, positioning the company as the "Best Business Partner."
- Stay current with new product offerings, market trends, and sales promotions to adapt sales strategies effectively.
- Maintain a CRM database to track customer interactions and ensure timely follow-ups, monitoring progress against sales goals with daily/weekly reports.
- Maintain inventory of "parts-on-site" cabinets within the assigned area of responsibility (AOR).
- Identify opportunities for new business and effectively transition these into new sales activity.
- Ensure customer satisfaction from the start of sale to delivery of parts, accurately completing all required processes and paperwork.
- Support management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.
- Teamwork, Training, and Company Representation:
- Attend and participate in sales meetings, regional meetings, and product training sessions (including JDU) to stay updated and enhance personal and professional growth.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting accountability, teamwork, and customer service excellence within the department.
- Collaborate with internal teams and support management in the pursuit of corporate goals and long-term objectives.
- Represent the company in customer-facing interactions, working with both sales and service departments to offer innovative solutions that exceed customer needs.
- Ensure the company’s reputation aligns with its core values in the community and adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
- Ensure the company’s reputation and image in the community reflect its core values and maintain a positive customer experience from start to finish.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the field of agricultural equipment with involvement in activities such as parts, sales, service, training or other related work
- Experience in the field of heavy equipment/construction equipment preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be self-motivated with high moral character
- Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
- Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, CRM and Internet
- Comfortable with cold calling and able to source new business
- Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with customers
- Ability to strategically drive sales in a competitive market
- Ability to gain in-depth knowledge of parts

Working Conditions
- General Physical Requirements:
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, Standing, Walking, Lifting, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, Hearing, and Repetitive Motions.
- Visual Acuity:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
