Summary

HVAC RNTL is seeking a Vice President of Operations & Growth to help lead the next phase of the company's evolution. This role will be responsible for building the operational capacity, organizational structure, leadership bench strength, and talent engine required to support significant growth over the coming years.

This role is not a traditional operations leadership position focused solely on process, efficiency, and cost control. Success will be measured by the ability to develop leaders, attract and retain talent, build scalable systems, support strategic growth initiatives, and create the organizational capacity required to double the size of the business while preserving the entrepreneurial culture, agility, and customer experience that differentiate HVAC RNTL in the marketplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Organizational Growth & Scale
• Build the operational and organizational framework required to support significant expansion.
• Develop scalable organizational structures, leadership roles, and operating rhythms.
• Partner on strategic planning, capacity planning, market expansion, and acquisition integration activities.
• Evaluate organizational readiness and identify opportunities to improve scalability.

Leadership Development & Talent
• Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing leadership team.
• Create recruiting strategies that position HVAC RNTL as an employer of choice.
• Develop innovative technician and operational workforce pipelines.

Customer Experience & Capacity
• Ensure operational capabilities support continued revenue growth.
• Partner closely with sales leadership to align resources with customer needs.
• Improve responsiveness, execution, and customer experience across all operational functions.
• Maintain relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.

Operational Excellence
• Implement practical operating systems that improve consistency without creating bureaucracy.
• Establish meaningful operational metrics and performance measures.
• Improve fleet productivity, resource utilization, and operational effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining agility.

Data Center Operations Strategy
• Build the operating model required to support growth in the data center market.
• Develop labor, organizational, and execution strategies for mission-critical environments.
• Support successful delivery of large-scale data center projects.

Field Leadership & Engagement
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the organization.
• Conduct branch visits, ride-alongs, customer meetings, and operational reviews.
• Travel approximately 30–40% to support growth objectives.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline preferred.
    • Equipment rental, HVAC services, specialty contracting, construction services, or related industry experience required.
    • 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience.
    • Significant multi-site leadership experience with responsibility for managers and senior leaders.
    • Demonstrated success helping organizations scale through periods of growth and expansion.
    • Proven track record of building high-performing teams and developing leaders.
    • Experience creating recruiting strategies and workforce development programs.
    • Strong customer-facing leadership experience.
    • Experience supporting acquisition integration is beneficial but not required.

Work Environment

This role involves a combination of office-based work, virtual collaboration, branch visits, customer meetings, and field engagement. The environment may include exposure to warehouse, job site, and customer operating environments during field visits.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time, including overnight stays.
    • Frequent use of standard office equipment.
    • Occasional standing, walking, climbing, and site inspections.
    • Ability to adapt to varying work environments including offices, branches, and job sites.

Salary ranges listed are dependent upon a candidate’s qualifications, experience, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the specific role and location.
