PLANT MANAGER
The Plant Manager is a pivotal leader, responsible for overseeing site operations and ensuring the strategic alignment of production activities with Hydrite’s strategic goals. This role demands exceptional leadership, a forward-thinking approach, and a proven ability to manage complex challenges within a manufacturing environment. The Plant Manager is a key driver of operational excellence, workforce development, and innovation.
Primary responsibilities include:
Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards across all site functions.
Develop and implement long-term operational strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
Oversee the execution of production schedules, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer requirements.
Lead, mentor, and inspire plant management teams to achieve high performance and professional growth.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation across the workforce
Manage the plant’s budget with a focus on cost control, resource allocation, and financial performance.
Drive data-driven continuous improvement programs aimed at optimizing operational processes and reducing waste.
Oversee maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and plant uptime.
Develop and oversee Process Engineering activities and personnel to maximize system performance.
Collaborate with Commercial and Project Engineering teams to identify and execute site’s growth projects, capital management, and construction management strategies.
Communicate and present site objectives, activities, metrics, and progress to members of company Sr. Leadership teams.
Lead site’s Emergency Response Protocols and participate as an Incident Commander or Responder if necessary.
Participate in training for purposes such as understanding site operations, staying knowledgeable and current on relevant regulations, and enhancing leadership skills.
Participate in or lead Safety, Regulatory, Quality, and Customer audits.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Director of Operations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field required.
Minimum of ten years of chemical production experience required.
Minimum of five years of chemical production management experience required.
Continuous process supervision and 24/7 Operations experience preferred.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit and/or stand up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to climb ladders and stairways up to 30 feet in height up to 10 times daily.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Several times daily.
Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day. Please refer to the SOP for facial hair guidelines.
Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited

Senior Process/Project Engineer
The primary purpose of this position is to perform project engineering activities including the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up of new processing equipment at the Waterloo, IA facility Also, support plant operations by improving existing production processes and introducing new production processes.
As a Senior Engineer, primary responsibilities include:
Leads and supports Hydrite’s Safety Vision, Mission, and Values.
Promote safety in all aspects of operations to improve the safety record at this facility and throughout the company; includes work performed by contractors.
Perform project-engineering activities that include the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up of new processing equipment or systems.
Continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to the plant processes and operating procedures.
Promote the production of products that meet or exceed customer expectations, e.g., through participation in audits and investigations.
Lead engineering efforts to support the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to ensure site compliance with state and federal regulations and standards (OSHA Construction & General Industry standards, OSHA PSM, RMP, RCRA, DNR, EPA, Title V/PSD, OCPSF, Dept. of Commerce, NFPA and NEC standards).
Coordinate and direct process hazard analysis, which includes PHA level selection and completion of the required checklists/templates and engineering MOC action items associated with the introduction of new products/processes. Basic data requirements include mass & energy balances/process kinetics, current equipment lists and drawings, process flow diagrams, relief vent sizing calculations, etc. per the OSHA PSM defined element.
Lead engineering efforts to support Food Safety and SQF initiatives and projects.
Support Sales and Marketing activities and provide technical assistance through interfaces with customers.
Support daily production activities by monitoring process performance, trouble-shooting problems, and, as needed, implementing corrective actions.
Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
Create operating procedures and training for new equipment and processes.
Assist in leading and mentoring the activities of process/project engineers and engineering co-ops & interns.
Assist in the proper maintenance of plant equipment as a technical resource.
Work with site management to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary.
Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
Assist, mentor, and direct the activities of junior engineers. Guide the development of engineering personnel and performance through the use of daily communication and performance evaluations.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Regional Engineer Manager
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
A Bachelor’s degree is required; preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Prefer to have additional education in Project Management.
Minimum ten years of Process Engineering and/or Project Engineering experience in chemical-processing industry preferred.
Minimum of five years of capital project management experience (interfacing with contractors).
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required. Proficiency in AutoCAD and pipeline-sizing programs preferred.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit and/or stand up to 10 hours per day.
Ability to climb ladders and stairways up to 40 feet in height on an occasional basis.
Ability to sit and/or stand for ten hours per day.
Must be able to travel as needed and work outside of normal business hours.
Occasional 12 to 16 hour workdays may be required as a result of travel or project related activities.

PRODUCTION MANAGER
The primary purpose of this position is to own and champion the day-to-day activities at Laurens for all production activities as it pertains to safety, environmental, GMP, and production. To provide leadership and support to attain critical short- and long-term strategic goals vital to the success of the plant to drive, safety, quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
Primary responsibilities include:
Leads and supports Hydrite’s Safety Vision, Mission and Values.
Direct management of all production activities including product manufacturing, packaging, and truck loading/unloading.
Accountable for the safety and quality performance of all production areas under direct management.
Adheres and enforces safety and regulatory policies and procedures through continuous audit and reeducation processes.
Assure departmental compliance with Hydrite SOP’s, Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and External Agencies.
Creates, maintains and updates operation procedures, batch records, checklist, job aids and training documents to drive safety, quality and GMP initiatives.
Manage operator training progression through frequent performance evaluations and coaching.
Review daily production schedules, communicate, and align production priorities to meet customer needs.
Continuously evaluates, recommends, and implements continuous improvements to the plant processes to reduce operation cost.
Works closely with plant manager and maintenance to identify process improvements, preventive maintenance, commissioning and startup of new processes and equipment.
Responsible for the completion of action items generated from incidents, audits (internal/external), customer complaints, and MOC within the requested due dates or set by you and your team.
Recommends required labor resources for efficient operation to meet the business objective.
Manage production activities to meet the expectations laid out in the Annual Plant Goals.
Works with the EHS department to ensure that safety and regulatory compliance training is conducted to meet Hydrite and regulatory agency requirements.
Serve on the branch Emergency Response Team.
Guides employee performance and development using daily communication, annual performance evaluations, Safe Behavioral Visits, and Leadership Standard of Work.
Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers
Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your supervisor. Must be RCRA compliant.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES
Support the investigation and corrective action efforts for incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints. Ensure initial incident reporting is completed by direct reports.
Direct all required emergency customer communications with regards to shutdowns, order delays, order errors within your departments, and any other issues that may affect 100% customer satisfaction with Hydrite.
Support the overall Strategic Plan effort within your departments, including safety, cost reduction, quality, backorders, budget, etc.
Participate in on-site regulatory and customer audits.
Facilitate the introduction of new products and processes into assigned production areas that are managed by your direct reports.
Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary.
Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Plant Manager
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required, natural sciences and/or business focused.
Must be bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish
Three years’ management experience. Manufacturing experience required; chemical experience preferred.
Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel are required.
Previous ERP experience required.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to remain seated for up to two hours at a time, ability to stand for an extended period of time, ability to climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must have the ability to pass all pre-employment testing including, but not limited to, background check, MVR, and drug screening.
Able to perform manual dexterity tasks.
Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
Must be able to work in an un-cooled warehouse facility where temperatures may reach 100° Fahrenheit.
Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
No exposed jewelry in body piercings when in a GMP production area.
Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.
Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day. Please refer to the SOP for facial hair guidelines.
Ability to wear SCBA and additional personal protective equipment.
