Technical Service Specialist- Water
The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical service support for wastewater treatment applications for new and existing customers. This includes troubleshooting, problem-solving, and field testing of new products, application concepts, and equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain wastewater treatment business at existing customer accounts.
- Assist in closing new business opportunities identified by sales representatives.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot feed systems, including metering pumps and polymer dilution systems.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and close opportunities that support Hydrite's long-term growth and market presence.
- Conduct plant surveys and utilize available tools and resources to develop best-in-class treatment solutions and chemical programs.
- Effectively manage time and territory to maximize customer support and business development activities.
- Prepare timely chemical treatment proposals, recommendations, and service reports.
- Ensure proper care and use of company vehicles, equipment, and other company property.
- Provide technical support for utility systems, including boilers and cooling towers.
- Maintain adequate inventories of chemical samples, testing supplies, and service equipment.
- Provide field support and technical expertise to the Hydrite sales organization.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Sales Manager- Water.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3-5 years field experience in wastewater treatment
- Bachelors degree highly preferred.
- Must be technically competent in wastewater treatment applications
- Must possess strong problem solving, troubleshooting and “people” skills
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Position requires extensive travel and frequent overnight stays.
- Driving or riding in an automobile or aircraft for 3 to 6 hours at a time.
- Standing for extended periods of 3 to 4 hours.
- Ability to lift 45 pounds and carry at least 20-30 feet.
- Frequent 12-16 hour work days may be required as a result of travel and customer commitments.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, bend, reach and climb stairs occasionally.
- Ability to type on a computer for 2 to 3 hours daily.
- Ability to work in conditions with unpleasant odors and surroundings.
- Able to work in environment where temperatures exceed 110 Fahrenheit.
- Must be able to work outside in extreme heat and cold temperatures
