Position Overview
The Senior Content Strategist brings brands to life. You will help brands move beyond who they are and what they should say and do, to crafting tangible manifestations of the brand that move people to act. This includes planning, designing, creating, editing, and publishing relevant content based on the brand or company’s business objectives and users' needs.
This role spans “traditional” brand-building, digital/CX, and space/place activation, with the ability to research, plan, create, and execute content strategies and activations wherever that brand needs to come to life to be successful and reach and motivate the target audience or consumer.
Working in collaboration with strategists, writers, designers, project managers and other team members to plan and produce and update content across chosen platforms, channels, and activations will be the key focus. This position leads content strategy and planning across all types of Hyperquake projects including foundational brand building, CX/GTM, digital (including Performance Marketing), and physical activation (Storybuilding).
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the discovery phase of projects, which entails desk research, stakeholder interviews, and client workshops
- Sift through large volumes of information and organize, prioritize, and synthesize to extract meaning and build a project’s storyline and journey map
- Use your deep knowledge of the client, their audience, and the craft of experiential storytelling to contribute to concept development during ideation sessions
- Put together presentation decks that clearly and compellingly communicate the experiential storyline and activation concepts, along with the thinking behind them
- Lead content planning to evaluate how existing content can best be utilized in a space and identify and develop any new content that must be created
- Write—or direct third parties in writing—compelling content (e.g., video scripts, interactive copy), with a particular emphasis on simplifying highly technical subject matters and bringing product benefits to life in immersive, illustrative ways
- Lead team in developing breakthrough ideas
- Create content for presentation decks that enable clients to make better strategic decisions Share ideas and encourage teams and clients to evolve and/or support current project or prompt discussions for new projects
- Manages multiple projects and phases of project work as assigned
- Possess the ability to simultaneously manage/oversee/inspire multiple projects in varying stages
- Works with strategists and copywriters to direct work that needs to be done to support projects
- Identifies times when help is needed and can bring in the right support for the project
- Partners effectively with Creative Directors and Production Leads to accurately scope projects
- Contributes to strategic client planning by identifying strategies and solutions to help the team lead the client to achievement of goals
- Delivers sound communications and persuasive presentations
- Interacts with clients in kick-off sessions, executive interviews, concept and content presentations
What we'd like you to bring to Hyperquake
- 5+ years experience developing strategies and content in an integrated agency or similar organization
- Demonstrable experience with content planning & execution across a wide variety of brand and consumer touchpoints and experiences including traditional brand building, CX, and physical real-world brand experiences
- Proven experience planning and developing content strategies for big and small brands across a wide variety of executions
- A digital native who thinks and plans brand expressions agnostic of channel, whether digital/online, through “traditional” channels, or in physical spaces and interactions, this person can bring the brand to life wherever its audience or target consumer lives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated strong narrative and brand copywriting chops
- Strong creative, analytical, and personal/project time management skills
- BS degree in Marketing, Advertising or relevant field preferred, not required
