Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - DeFi/Crypto (Shanghai)

Our client is a Crypto company, and is looking for a visionary and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead their technological vision, strategy, and execution as the company expands rapidly.

The CTO will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring the scalability of the technology stack, and overseeing the development of high-quality DeFi products that excel in security, performance, and user experience.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of Web2 and Web3 technologies, the crypto markets, and have experience managing a scaling team and an external developer community. This role demands an individual capable of aligning technology strategy with business objectives, collaborating closely with other executives, nurturing a culture of innovation, and staying ahead of the fast-evolving industry landscape to keep their products at the cutting edge of the crypto sector. 

Responsibilities:

• Establish a quantitative trading platform in the middle office to oversee the trading desk, integrating algorithms and implementing risk control strategies aligned with management.
• Develop and execute a technology strategy to enhance coordination, optimize performance, and ensure the sustainability of trading operations.
• Build seamless integration between front office (trading desk) and back office (settlements, accounting) systems.
• Drive technology innovation and research, collaborating with the executive team to align tech solutions with business strategies.
• Manage general IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
• Lead the hiring of technology professionals and traders.
• Effectively manage technology budgets, resources, and project timelines.
• Implement advanced cybersecurity measures to protect financial data and trading systems.
• Proactively manage technology risks in compliance with industry regulations.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience as a CTO or in a similar leadership role within exchanges, trading firms, or hedge funds.
• Familiarity with DeFi projects and experience in Smart Contract development is essential.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology, and smart contracts is preferred.
• Expertise in developing and enhancing quantitative trading algorithms.
• Strong background in cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance in financial services.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, C++, and Java.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud computing, and big data technologies.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin is a must.
