Role Overview
We are hiring a senior-level Founding Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of a new Stablecoin Cross-border Payments product. This is a high-ownership role where you will define the architecture, build core backend systems, and drive the technical execution of the product from zero to scale.
You will work closely with the founder to shape system design, technical strategy, and engineering direction while also laying the groundwork for future team expansion.
Responsibilities:
We are hiring a senior-level Founding Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of a new Stablecoin Cross-border Payments product. This is a high-ownership role where you will define the architecture, build core backend systems, and drive the technical execution of the product from zero to scale.
You will work closely with the founder to shape system design, technical strategy, and engineering direction while also laying the groundwork for future team expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end design and development of payments backend infrastructure
- Architect scalable systems for payment processing, ledgering, and settlement flows
- Build production-grade backend systems with strong focus on reliability and security
- Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, and system design principles
- Collaborate directly with the founder on technical roadmap and product direction
- Support hiring and help build a high-quality engineering team
- Ensure systems are robust, observable, and capable of scaling globally
Requirements:
- Tech Lead / Staff Engineer level, with strong hands-on engineering capability and ownership of system design and execution.
- Strong hands-on experience building payment backend/ infra systems (must-have)
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture
- Ability to operate independently in a zero-to-one environment
- Strong English communication skills
- Comfortable working with partial APAC time zone overlap
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to Web3, stablecoins, or blockchain-based payments
- Experience in fintech, cross-border payments, or ledger systems
- Prior startup experience or early-stage product building
