HR Officer

We're looking for a HR Officer to join our team at Hypixel Studios, which collaborates remotely from around the world. Our members range from industry newcomers to experts with 25+ years of experience. Team members come from a diverse set of backgrounds, but share a common passion for building polished player-focused, community-powered games.

Based in our Derry office, the new HR Officer will help with the smooth operation of the HR function within the Studio. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties and help manage day-to-day HR admin tasks as part of the Talent (People & Culture) team. You will show drive and commitment to deliver consistent results working alongside the HRBP’s and Global Talent Director. As a highly discreet individual, you will understand the importance of handling sensitive data and ensure confidentiality and data quality is completely maintained. 



Who you are:

  • You are an excellent communicator and are passionate about working across disciplines and timezones to deliver work aligned to the studio’s goals.
  • You can effectively triage queries; and escalate more serious issues to the HRBPs whilst have the ability to build strong relationships across the Studio.
  • You have excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle high volume tasks to deadlines.
  • You can work on multiple tasks & projects.
  • You are a creative problem solver, finding ways to support team members and bring a positive focus to remove obstacles when possible.

 

Some of your role:

  • You will be a first point of contact for HR queries and have a strong knowledge of HR policy.
  • You will support the HRBPs and Global Talent Director in an administrative capacity, to ensure the smooth running of the HR team.
  • You will coordinate the Onboarding experience for new joiners.
  • You will support the Finance team as needed with salary and new joiner related queries.
  • You will maintain HR systems and provide reports as needed.
  • You will support team members with HR systems as needed.
  • You will support various HR Projects.

 

Essential traits:

  • Previous experience as an HR Officer - ideally within gaming/software/digital or media industry.
  • Strong technical ability in IT systems ie: G-Suite or MS Office.
  • Previous experience in handling sensitive data and ensuring confidentiality and data quality is 100% maintained.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced and remote start-up environment with a willingness to learn.
  • Proactive approach and able to work on own initiative with strong organisational and communication skills.

 

Bonus traits:

  • Previous experience of a gaming environment.
  • Previous experience of working with a remote, global team.
