Paralegal

Interactive Brokers Hong Kong (IBHK) seeks an enthusiastic and motivated paralegal to work with the APAC General Counsel and assist the APAC legal team.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the preparation of agreements for execution by IBHK and its clients;
  • Filing of documents and organising files/records;
  • Conducting legal research;
  • Assisting with investigating disputes and regulatory investigations;
  • Preparing written reports;
  • Maintaining legal/case files (for example, maintaining a register of legal contract amendments); 
  • Assisting with drafting documents;
  • Managing administrative dialog with internal stakeholders and external counsel;
  • invoice management; and,
  • Ad hoc tasks include collecting/collating documents from IBHK’s internal record systems and supporting special/ad-hoc projects.

 

Requirements: 

  • University graduate or student in a reputable university or career paralegal with a demonstrable track record 
  • Depending on academic qualifications, at least three years of related working experience in a law firm or with an in-house legal function. Experience within the financial services industry would be an advantage (for example, broker, bank, insurer, or regulator);
  • Mature, self-motivated, and independent;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented;
  • Responsible, trustworthy with a positive attitude and a good team player;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications; and,
  • Excellent written and spoken English and strong Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) language skills are advantages.
