Model Governance and Analytics Manager

 

Interactive Brokers is looking to hire a Model Governance and Analytics Manager at our fantastic London Office (Fenchurch Street). The position has excellent learning and growth potential for highly motivated performers eager to make an impact in the Financial Crimes domain. The Manager will report to our Model tuning head and will assist with ensuring the firm complies with regional and global Sanctions, anti-money laundering, and securities monitoring standards and regulatory obligations.

 

As a manager, you'll be part of the global model governance and analytics team, responsible for governing, tuning and recommending changes to the suite of global AML and Sanctions control across all entities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain model governance framework and keep all supporting documentation up to date.
  • Interact with key regional heads across different entities to facilitate model risk during all model life cycle stages and ensure effective governance and oversight.
  • Develop and update Model tuning plans.
  • Assessing model documentation, including development, monitoring design, and implementation documentation, for completeness against established program standards. 
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of financial crime data. Develop codes to perform data analyses using Python and SQL.
  • Perform annual and on-demand AML model tuning and testing for Trade Surveillance, AML, and Sanction models.
  • Validate algorithm and programming spec in Python, SQL and Java.
  • Recommend calibration and tailoring of monitoring systems to ensure that alerts are generated optimally with an effective balance of false positives based on risk appetite.
  • Support maintenance of documentation about tuning schedules, reports and data analyses.
  • Perform UAT testing of model changes.
  • Report and track risk coverage gaps through governance activities and milestones.
  • Stay informed on changes in regulations and industry best practices related to AML and Trade Surveillance monitoring.


The ideal candidate should have regulatory technology experience working for an exchange, a regulatory organisation, a Broker Dealer (BD), Financial Institution or a similar organisation.


Qualification & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field
  • Strong knowledge of model risk related to AML and Sanctions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional certification in financial crime compliance (e.g., CAMS) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in anti-money laundering risk and mitigation strategies
  • 5+ years experience developing, testing, tuning, and validating financial crimes models at a financial institution or fintech.
  • Significant years experience in relational databases (Oracle)
  • Strong understanding of Python or similar scripting language with knowledge of AI/ML techniques.
  • Strong team management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team contributor to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
