Position
We seek a skilled Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain API authentication applications and internal tools to streamline external client integration. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Java and be able to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
You will be part of an engineering team that focuses on developing and supporting core authentication systems, leveraging OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and similar protocols to ensure secure and scalable access for our external clients. Our team is also responsible for building and enhancing internal tools (e.g., dashboards, CLI utilities, and web applications) to help us manage third-party integrations. The position is well-suited for an organized individual who can meet deadlines, follow written procedures, collaborate for improvements, and be a team player.
Responsibilities
- Produce scalable, flexible, efficient full-stack Java applications in an agile environment.
- Collaborate with security and API engineering teams to implement best practices for authentication, access control, and token management.
- Architect, design, and develop a software framework to support group goals.
- Contribute to all development lifecycle phases, including requirements gathering, communication with stakeholders, and documentation.
- Advise on technical limitations and service design, prepare reports, and present demos to internal and external third-party integration teams.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
Minimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science or related field and 2 years experience as a Java developer or related IT position developing with Java. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science or related field and 3 years of experience as a developer or related IT position developing with Java, C++, Python, or Go.
- 2+ years of experience with automation scripting third-party API integrations using Python or Bash.
- Knowledge of security best practices for API development and integration.
- Experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs in an Agile environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
