About the Role

iCapital is seeking an experienced and versatile Equity Management professional to join our Corporate Finance department, focusing on Equity Management within the Corporate Reporting team. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape a rapidly growing area of equity management, which includes stakeholder communications, equity compensation, equity accounting, shareholder management, and more. The ideal candidate is as comfortable drafting clear, professional communications, as they are working with complex data sets.

This position combines routine financial reporting responsibilities with strategic involvement in ad hoc projects, including equity analysis and the integration of merger and acquisition (M&A) targets. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Shareholder Communications and Support: Address internal and external shareholder inquiries through a ticketing system (FreshService-based) and create new drafts of stakeholder and other communications.
  • Training & Education: Develop and deliver training materials for global employees on equity compensation topics using PowerPoint and other tools.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Human Resources, Legal, Payroll, and Corporate Development teams on initiatives like processing new equity awards, primary equity issuances, stock option exercises, RSU settlements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify gaps in current processes, implement internal controls, and drive continuous improvements in equity and reporting workflows.
  • Special Projects: Support ad hoc initiatives such as equity accounting analysis, M&A integrations, liquidity events and external audits.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist with monthly reporting of the company’s capitalization table and stock-based compensation calculations.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Input, extract and analyze data using iCapital’s equity management software Carta. Work with large datasets in Excel and present insights effectively.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare equity-related journal entries, including those for option exercises, equity issuances, and stock-based compensation expenses using platforms NetSuite and Carta.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage domestic and international tax reporting for option exercises and taxable income, including preparing data for U.S. tax filings (e.g., forms 3921, 1099-B) and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations globally.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred
  • Interest in pursuing an Equity Compensation Associate (ECA), Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designations, or other relevant certifications. Desire to engage in ongoing learning and professional development
  • 3 - 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services
  • Exceptional ability in data management and written communications, with a strong aptitude for implementing checks and balances independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex concepts and a passion for training and educating others
  • Proficiency and experience in PowerPoint for creating and delivering professional presentations.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
  • Experience with equity management software preferred (e.g., Carta, Astrella, Pulley, JP Morgan Workplace Solutions, etc.)
  • Experience with General Ledger systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, SAP, PeopleSoft) is preferred
  • General US GAAP accounting knowledge, with a familiarity of stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718)
  • Understanding of company capital structures and familiarity with 409A valuations
  • Self-motivated, flexible, strong verbal presentation skills, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing day-to-day responsibilities with long-term strategic goals

 

 

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $ 90,000 to $ 140,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
