Senior Strategic Development & Business Management Support - Vice President / Senior Vice President

About the Role

The Vice President or Senior Vice President of Strategic Development and Business Management will lead a newly formed group responsible for driving strategic planning, operational execution, and organizational effectiveness across the fund operations division, and potentially across the firm. This role is designed to fill a critical gap by establishing a structured, high-impact function that ensures business initiatives are well-planned, well-executed, and aligned with long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual and multi-year business planning cycles for fund operations and related functions.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives with clear milestones and success metrics.
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure alignment across departments and functions.
  • Provide oversight and governance for key business initiatives, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks to track progress and performance.
  • Serve as a central coordination point for cross-functional projects.
  • Conduct strategic analysis of new business opportunities, including market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and operational impact.
  • Lead integration planning and execution for acquisitions, ensuring seamless transition and alignment with existing operations.
  • Assess organizational structure, staffing levels, and talent needs across fund operations.
  • Partner with the HR and department heads to develop training programs and career development pathways.
  • Support workforce planning and succession strategies.
  • Design and implement employee engagement strategies, including surveys, feedback loops, and action plans.
  • Facilitate town halls, offsites, and internal communications to foster transparency and alignment.
  • Champion a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee business administration needs including budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management.
  • Ensure consistency in methodology, documentation, and tracking across the COO office and business unit.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in strategic planning, business management, operations, or Chief of Staff-type roles
  • Experience in fund operations, financial services, or a similarly complex, regulated environment
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
  • Deep understanding of operational risk, control frameworks, and regulatory environments
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in project management, data visualization, and reporting tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field (MBA preferred)

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $240,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
