Corporate Development & Strategy - Assistant Vice President

About the Role

iCapital is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join the Corporate Development and Strategy team. This key role will work closely with Senior Leadership to drive iCapital’s long‑term growth providing strategic leverage, driving cross‑functional execution, and at times operating in a senior strategic support capacity to ensure alignment, accountability, and momentum across major initiatives.

This individual will contribute meaningfully to both organic and inorganic growth efforts, including market assessments, strategic planning, M&A evaluation, due diligence, and other high‑priority strategic initiatives. The role offers significant exposure to the firm’s most critical decisions and requires someone who thrives in environments where intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and ownership are essential, with a strong interest in next‑generation financial technology trends shaping the future of private markets. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, operator, and problem solver who can move seamlessly between detailed analytical work and senior‑level strategic discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior leadership in developing, refining, and executing firmwide strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to several executives, helping drive clarity, operational alignment, and follow‑through on complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Provide structured thought partnership and senior‑level strategic support where needed including agenda setting, preparation for key internal and external meetings, and tracking strategic deliverables.
  • Bring independent perspective and creative problem‑solving to ambiguous or open‑ended strategic questions and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
  • Evaluate and build deep understanding of new and emerging priorities, engaging internally with product, technology, and commercial SMEs, as well as externally with partners and market participants.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate M&A and partnership opportunities, including market and competitive assessments.
  • Form a point of view on opportunities based on data‑driven analysis, strategic intuition, and deep understanding of iCapital’s vision.
  • Support members of the team during due diligence processes, coordinating cross‑functional teams to ensure thorough evaluation and informed recommendations.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial and operating models to evaluate transactions, unit economics, gross margins, operating leverage, and underlying business performance across companies of varying size and complexity.
  • Help maintain and synthesize industry insights, competitive intelligence, and thematic research to inform corporate strategy.
  • Identify and develop opportunities proactively for partnerships, acquisitions, or new business initiatives aligned with the company’s long‑term strategy.
  • Scan the market continuously for emerging trends, new business models, and whitespace opportunities that could shape the firm’s next wave of growth.
  • Drive execution of strategic projects from ideation through completion, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and measurable outcomes.
  • Act as a connector across teams, ensuring coordinated communication and efficient decision‑
  • Lean into execution details and proactively remove obstacles to maintain speed and alignment across teams.
  • Develop executive‑ready presentations, business cases, and financial analyses to communicate key insights and recommendations.
  • Incorporate AI‑enabled and advanced analytics tools into research, modeling, and diligence workflows to improve the speed, quality, and scalability of analysis, while exercising sound judgment and data discipline.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in corporate development or strategy, investing (PE/VC), or a similar strategic or analytical role
  • Curious mentality and highly self‑motivated with a strong work ethic, all‑in mindset
  • Demonstrated initiative and anticipates needs and brings structure to ambiguous problems
  • Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments and able to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities
  • Capable of quickly climbing a steep learning curve to build understanding of the key drivers of iCapital’s business and the areas in which iCapital operates
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis, with the ability to develop and pressure‑test assumptions around unit economics, margins, operating efficiency, and valuation
  • Clear, concise communicator who produces executive‑ready materials and distills complex topics for senior audiences
  • Proven experience in a highly collaborative, low‑ego environment working closely with senior executives and cross‑functional teams; able to influence without authority and build trust
  • Experience with alternative investments, fund structures, platform business models, and emerging fintech technologies (i.e. digital assets, data and automation technologies) is a plus

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $125,000 to $145,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. Employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes an employer matched retirement plan, generously subsidized healthcare with 100% employer paid dental, vision, telemedicine, and virtual mental health counseling, parental leave, and unlimited paid time off (PTO).
