About the Role

iCapital is looking to hire a Vice President to join the Alternatives Distribution team. This individual will be responsible for supporting iCapital National Account efforts to proactively grow business and implement iCapital’s alternative investment product placement and management along with focused distribution efforts, across strategically important RIA or independent broker dealer relationships. This will include carrying out the National Accounts strategy, developing client business plans, monitoring success of client business plan, across home office, field sales force, value-add programs, and implementing top-down sales initiatives in collaboration with internal iCapital partners and home office leadership and sales teams.  

The ideal candidate has a strong background in investment products and can work with clients on alternative investment product placements, firm level marketing initiatives, and service level requests to drive sales.  This position will report to the Head of Alternatives Distribution National Accounts and will work closely with our field-based regional sales teams.               

Responsibilities

  • Lead research engagement for new and existing mandates to deliver industry leading due diligence experience to iCapital white label research teams.  
  • Cultivate strong and trust-based relationships with Research teams at all levels of leadership, analysts, and operational due diligence. 
  • Collaborate seamlessly with iCapital research teams and GP partners to ensure continuous alignment on current views, pipeline, strategy placement and industry trends.  
  • Become a trusted partner to key clients and work with iCapital Enterprise level relationship managers to deliver a unified best-in-class client and advisor experience.     
  • Own product and platform rollouts coordinating across internal partners, general partners, key clients, and iCapital regional sales team members to maximize sales opportunity.   
  • Create and maintain active SWOT documentation for each key client and establish routines to support each relationship. 
  • Develop key client collateral, independent of or in partnership with iCapital’s Marketing team to support our field-based sales efforts.   
  • Document all client focused activities via CRM (Salesforce).   
  • Build and strengthen relationships through contact frequency including comprehensive face-to-face, phone, and electronic contact with key decision-makers and points of influence at firms to increase our influence at various firm levels. 
  • Responsible for direct selling through relationship management activities with strategic clients to profitably increase sales and asset retention.  
  • Participate in harmonizing strategy and tactics and distribution opportunities for initiatives for assigned firms. 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience placing complex products with RIAs and Independent firms   
  • Bachelor’s degree is required  
  • Working knowledge of RIA and independent firm ecosystems from a sales, custodial, product, and research perspective. Intermediate knowledge of alternative investment products and asset classes 
  • Able to influence and persuade others, bridge differences, and build consensus towards a common goal or objective is critical 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with key internal relationships and external partners 
  • Marketing and analytical skills are required to implement research coverage and top-down strategic plan to execute overall business plan 
  • Strong sales skills, with history in a consultative sales process  
  • Able to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude and high-performance level with demanding and time sensitive initiatives 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and strong presentation skills   
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses are required   
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for key client support and business development activities 

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $190,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
