Head of Managed Accounts and Model Portfolio Delivery - Senior Vice President

iCapital is seeking a Senior Vice President, Head of Managed Accounts and Model Portfolio Delivery to lead the packaging, development, and commercialization of the firm’s model portfolio and separately managed account (SMA) capabilities. This individual will be responsible for defining and scaling the operational infrastructure to support inclusion of alternative investments via model portfolio and managed account solutions across wealth management channels.

This is a senior leadership role requiring deep expertise across portfolio implementation, advisory platform capabilities, product development, defining technology requirements, regulatory frameworks, and partnerships with third-party service providers (custodians, UMA vendors, etc.). The role will operate at the intersection of product, investment solutions, distribution, and technology, partnering closely with internal teams and external clients to deliver innovative, scalable portfolio solutions and drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the firm’s Managed Accounts and Model Portfolio Delivery strategy, aligning with iCapital’s broader product and platform roadmap.
  • Establish iCapital as a market leader in next-generation portfolio construction frameworks, including public-private allocation models.
  • Lead the evolution of model portfolios, UMA programs, SMA offerings and other managed account solutions, including the integration of alternative investments and private markets.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy for model and SMA solutions across distribution channels.
  • Partner with Sales, Relationship Management, and Platform teams to drive adoption and revenue growth.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with wealth platforms, asset managers, and technology providers.
  • Oversee the design, development, and lifecycle management of managed account solutions.
  • Partner with iCapital’s Research, Technology and Platform teams to develop framework to make models and managed accounts available in various structures, including hosting on third-party platforms and portfolio management systems.
  • Drive innovation in portfolio implementation, rebalancing, reporting, and analytics.
  • Partner with iCapital’s operations team to define the operational framework needed to support managed account solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure solutions meet client needs across RIAs, broker-dealers, wirehouses, and private banks.
  • Guide the structuring of models and managed account solutions, ensuring regulatory alignment and scalability.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure all offerings meet regulatory and governance requirements, engagements, including platform integrations, RFPs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a senior thought leader externally, representing iCapital with wealth managers, asset managers, and industry partners.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of financial advisors, client portfolios, and portfolio construction workflows.
  • Gather market feedback to continuously refine product offerings and positioning.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in asset management, wealth management, or financial technology, with a focus on model portfolios, SMAs, or portfolio construction
  • Proven experience building and scaling investment advisory programs, model portfolios, or managed account solutions
  • Strong knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940, including registered product structures and compliance considerations
  • Extensive experience with SMA program structuring, UMA platforms, and advisory platform implementation
  • Experience owning or managing alternative investment products or private markets strategies
  • Strong track record of leading go-to-market initiatives and driving revenue growth
  • Deep understanding of portfolio construction and asset allocation, portfolio implementation and trading workflows, model management and customization, performance reporting and analytics
  • Able to operate at a senior level across product, strategy, sales, and technology teams
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to engage internal stakeholders and external clients

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $210,000 to $260,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
