Head of Content Strategy - Senior Vice President / Managing Director

About the Role

iCapital is seeking a Head of Content Strategy to lead and scale the firm's global content vision during its next phase of growth. This individual will develop a unified content strategy that strengthens iCapital's position across investment management, wealth management, and financial technology while expanding the firm's thought leadership across its growing platform of solutions. Working closely with executive leadership and senior subject matter experts, the successful candidate will translate complex industry insights into compelling content that informs, differentiates, and drives engagement. This leader will establish the editorial standards, governance structures, and operating model needed to deliver high-quality content at scale. Combining strategic leadership with hands-on content expertise, they will play a critical role in elevating iCapital's brand, market presence, and commercial impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a multi-year content strategy and scalable messaging architecture that positions iCapital at the intersection of investment management, wealth management, and financial technology while supporting global and regional growth opportunities.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing content organization, including agency and external partner relationships, while establishing the workflows, governance structures, and resourcing models needed to operate efficiently at scale.
  • Translate complex financial and business concepts into compelling, audience-centric narratives across investment management, private markets, structured investments, ETFs, annuities, life insurance, and evolving platform capabilities.
  • Develop, write, edit, and oversee content across formats including thought leadership, executive perspectives, educational content, research distribution, presentations, newsletters, podcasts, video, digital content, and emerging channels.
  • Establish editorial standards, content governance frameworks, publication processes, editorial calendars, tone-of-voice guidelines, and audience-specific messaging to ensure consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance across the organization.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership, investment professionals, senior subject matter experts, Product Marketing, Brand, Digital, Social, PR, Events, Compliance, and international business teams to align content strategy with business priorities and market opportunities.
  • Expand content visibility and distribution through multi-channel programs, SEO and answer engine optimization (AEO), paid, owned, and earned media, strategic content partnerships, industry relationships, and emerging platforms.
  • Represent iCapital's thought leadership strategy through conferences, partner events, media relationships, executive presentations, and other initiatives that strengthen market presence and brand credibility.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience leading content strategy, editorial, thought leadership, or content marketing functions within financial services, investment management, wealth management, fintech, or a related industry
  • Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree in finance, economics, journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise-wide content strategies across multiple audiences, channels, formats, and global markets while delivering measurable business outcomes
  • Deep understanding of financial markets and experience partnering with portfolio managers, research analysts, strategists, economists, and other investment professionals to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and content development capabilities across long-form, short-form, and multimedia formats, with the ability to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on practitioner
  • Proven ability to build and scale teams, establish content governance frameworks, manage complex projects, and lead multiple concurrent initiatives in fast-paced environments
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills with a track record of advising senior executives, building trusted partnerships, and aligning cross-functional teams around shared objectives
  • Data-driven mindset with expertise in content performance measurement, analytics, SEO, AEO, content distribution, and optimization across digital, social, email, video, PR, paid media, and events

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $215,000 to $300,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. Employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes an employer matched retirement plan, generously subsidized healthcare with 100% employer paid dental, vision, telemedicine, and virtual mental health counseling, parental leave, and unlimited paid time off (PTO).

We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.
