Quality Assurance Technical Lead

About the role

The Technical Lead – Quality Assurance is a senior technical leader responsible for driving end-to-end quality strategy, governance, and execution across assigned products or programs. This role combines deep hands-on expertise with leadership capabilities to ensure high-quality software delivery, strong automation adoption, and alignment with business and customer expectations.

Operating across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), the QA Technical Lead partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Client Delivery teams to define testing strategies, improve efficiency, and ensure robust validation of complex business workflows. The role plays a critical part in strengthening quality practices, reducing risk, and enabling predictable, high-quality releases.

This position also focuses on building team capability, mentoring QA engineers, and driving innovation through automation, AI-driven testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Deliverables and Performance Measures

  • Define and execute end-to-end QA strategy aligned with product, business, and customer requirements
  • Lead test planning, execution, regression cycles, and defect triage across projects and releases
  • Ensure validation of complex, end-to-end business workflows including underwriting, policy servicing, and rule-based calculations
  • Drive risk-based testing approaches to prioritize critical functionalities and reduce production defects
  • Establish and enforce QA standards, frameworks, and best practices across teams
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage, and execution efficiency
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to improve product quality
  • Provide technical oversight for test automation across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Drive automation-first strategy, increasing coverage and reducing manual effort
  • Integrate QA processes with CI/CD pipelines to enable faster and more reliable release cycles
  • Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure environment readiness, data setup, and release validation
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for system architecture, integrations, and configuration-driven implementations
  • Present quality metrics, release readiness status, and risk assessments to stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop QA team members, improving technical and domain capabilities
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between QA, Development, Product, and Client Delivery
  • Drive adoption of AI-driven testing practices, including intelligent automation and efficient regression strategies

What Will Make You Successful

  • 5-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering roles
  • Strong experience in leading QA teams and managing end-to-end quality delivery
  • Deep expertise in QA methodologies, test strategy, and automation frameworks
  • Strong domain knowledge in Life Insurance and Annuities
  • Experience with tools such as Selenium, Katalon, Jira, TestRail, Jenkins, and API testing tools
  • Hands-on experience integrating QA with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, integrations, and complex workflows
  • Experience in risk-based testing, defect management, and root cause analysis
  • Proven ability to analyze quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop high-performing QA teams
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for testing, automation, and productivity improvements is a plus
  • High ownership mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment
