Sales Solutions Engineer - Associate

About the Role

iCapital is looking to hire a Solutions Engineer to join the Annuities Platform team. This role serves as the primary technical advisor and solution consultant for our annuities platform and products throughout the sales cycle, partnering closely with prospects, clients, and internal teams to design solutions that address complex business challenges. This role combines technical expertise, business consulting, and relationship management to help clients understand, evaluate, and successfully adopt iCapital solutions. This individual will lead discovery conversations, demonstrate product capabilities, propose solutions, support proposal development, and ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation. The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of technical acumen, industry knowledge, communication skills, and consultative selling experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales teams, prospects, and clients to understand business objectives, technical requirements, workflows, and implementation goals, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering activities to define business processes, integrations, data requirements, risks, dependencies, and solution objectives.
  • Design and recommend scalable solutions that align client needs with products and services while ensuring technical feasibility and long-term success.
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations, presentations, and solution workshops that communicate business value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Product, Engineering, and Professional Services teams to validate solution designs, implementation approaches, and project scope.
  • Support development of RFP and RFI responses, Statements of Work (SOWs), implementation estimates, technical documentation, and client-facing proposals.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation by documenting requirements, assumptions, deliverables, and commitments while providing knowledge transfer and project support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, clients, and internal stakeholders to establish credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Contribute to sales enablement materials, best practices, training content, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that support business growth and team effectiveness.
  • Maintain expertise in insurance and financial services technology, industry trends, APIs, integrations, enterprise architecture, and emerging technologies.
  • Represent the organization at client meetings, industry events, and solution workshops.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience within insurance, annuity or wealth management, or financial services.
  • 2+ years of experience partnering with sales, product, engineering, and professional services teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales, requirements documentation, client-facing software demonstrations, presentations, and solution consulting.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences.
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for stakeholders.
  • Experience with APIs, web services, data integrations, single sign-on (SSO), and enterprise system architecture.
  • Familiar with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Knowledge of ACORD standards, insurance data models, and industry integration frameworks is preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance and annuity new business processing workflows is preferred.
  • Experience with Life and Annuity automated Order Entry platforms is preferred.

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus. We believe the best ideas and innovation happen when we are together. Employees in this role will work in the office Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday.  This role is based in the greater Des Moines area.
