CNC Router Specialist

ICON is looking for a skilled CNC machinist to operate and maintain our CNC router. As a CNC programmer and operator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting design specifications, programming the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. To ensure success in this role, you should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised.This is a full-time, onsite position based on our Austin, Texas HQ Campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints.
  • Manipulating design models.
  • Inputting the product designs into the programming software and generating g-code. 
  • Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job.
  • Adjusting machine settings to the appropriate specifications.
  • Loading raw materials into the CNC machine (with and without a forklift). 
  • Track material consumption.
  • Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the machine.
  • Communicating with engineers and designers as needed.
  • Training new staff on machine operation procedures.
  • Basic fabrication shop job duties, including cutting material, prepping, cleaning, etc

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience operating and programming a CNC router
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience programming/ running a CNC router to cut Aluminum, Wood, & Plastics
  • Ability to read and interpret design blueprints
  • Experience with computer modeling software, including: Rhino, Fusion, & Solid Works
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient communication and collaboration across disciplines
  • Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (50-100lbs)
