Product Test Technician I

ICON is seeking a Product Test Technician I to support the operation, integration, and troubleshooting of test systems. This role involves assisting with test infrastructure maintenance, fabrication of test articles, and collaborating with the test engineering team. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, fluid, and electro-mechanical test systems.
  • Support the maintenance of ICON’s test infrastructure, including test stands, fluid systems, and processes under guidance.
  • Assist in the fabrication and integration of test articles and equipment: fluid panels, actuators, motors, gears, electrical cabinets, PLCs, and welded assemblies.
  • Assist with the integration, operation, and troubleshooting of motion-control, and software/firmware subsystems within test systems.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain accurate documentation and log test data.
  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety and testing.
  • Assist with on-site testing, repair, and troubleshooting under supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associates in mechatronics, mechanical engineering technology, or relevant field preferred).
  • 0-2 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or fluid system testing.
  • Strong interest in fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with mechanical tools, fasteners, and gear assemblies.
  • Willingness to learn PLC systems (Beckhoff Twincat).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in extreme environments, including high or low temperatures, sun, rain, mud, or areas without electricity.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in extreme environments, including high or low temperatures, sun, rain, mud, or areas without electricity.
  • Comfortable with hands-on, field-based work.
