Senior Analyst or Associate, Business Development (Talent Pipeline)

As a Senior Analyst or Associate within our Client Development (Business Development) team, you will help identify and develop prospective client relationships, contributing across the business development lifecycle from sourcing and qualification through prospect engagement. You will combine research, analysis, and market intelligence with a commercial mindset to identify opportunities where ICONIQ can add differentiated value.

This role sits within Investment Management which strives to deliver exceptional investment portfolios by harnessing the differentiated capital and strategic strength of the ICONIQ community.

Core Responsibilities for All Candidates

Across both levels, you will contribute to business development activities including:

  • Identifying prospective client opportunities through research, market intelligence, and ICONIQ’s extensive network.
  • Monitoring key industry and market activity, including fundraising rounds, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and other meaningful liquidity events.
  • Conducting research and analysis on prospective clients using tools and sources including PitchBook, Salesforce, WealthX, Securities and Exchange Commission filings, and others.
  • Reviewing prospect information, including balance sheets, performance reports, estate maps, holding summaries, and other financial materials to identify opportunities for ICONIQ to add value.
  • Partnering with colleagues across Business Development, Investment Management, Capital Markets, and Operations to support prospective client relationships.
  • Developing customized analyses, presentations, and materials focused on ICONIQ’s product and service offerings.
  • Supporting market mapping, prospect prioritization, and other strategic business development initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate prospect information and activity within key systems.


If You Are a Senior Analyst

Senior Analysts build a strong foundation across sourcing, qualification, and analysis while taking increasing ownership of business development workstreams. You will:

  • Drive top-of-the-funnel lead generation through intensive research and ICONIQ’s broader network.
  • Identify and evaluate prospective clients, developing well-founded observations and identifying opportunities for ICONIQ to add value.
  • Support senior team members in preparing for prospective client interactions and developing customized materials.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of business development, sales, and marketing initiatives.
  • Curate, maintain, and own business development resources, including firm, family office, and service offering materials.
  • Develop expertise across ICONIQ’s platform, prospective client profiles, and the broader market to strengthen sourcing and qualification efforts.

Senior Analyst Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in investment management or a related financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and entrepreneurial ability.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.

If You Are an Associate

Associates take on greater ownership across the business development lifecycle, with increased responsibility for developing opportunities, shaping prospect strategies, and participating in prospect engagement. You will:

  • Independently identify and develop prospective client opportunities through research, market intelligence, and relationship mapping.
  • Partner with senior members of the Business Development and Investment Management teams to develop strategies for priority prospective relationships.
  • Participate in prospect interactions, helping prepare for meetings, identify opportunities, develop follow-up strategies, and advance relationships through the business development process.
  • Synthesize financial, market, and prospect information into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Own customized materials and analyses that articulate how ICONIQ’s platform may address the needs of prospective clients.
  • Lead discrete business development workstreams and strategic projects, including market mapping, prospect prioritization, and analysis of business development initiatives.

Associate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in investment management, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or another relevant financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex financial and market information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ownership and initiative, with the ability to independently drive workstreams while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence and judgment to interact with internal stakeholders and prospective clients.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.

Location

Applicants are expected to work onsite in our New York or San Francisco office in accordance with our hybrid working policy.

Compensation Range

ICONIQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At ICONIQ, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation terms. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $105,000 - $120,000 for Senior Analysts and $130,000 - $150,000 for Associates together with the benefits listed above.
