Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis

This individual will join their corporate finance team and is ideal for someone with financial modeling expertise, and experience building decks and telling stories with numbers. In addition, this position will engage with the entire finance function within ICONIQ and will collaborate with various departments across the organization to assist senior management in determining strategic firm initiatives.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Expense Forecasting and Analysis:
    • Support firmwide expense forecasting, contributing to accurate, data-driven projections on a monthly and quarterly basis.
    • Assist in producing key financial reports, including: 
      • Monthly expense snapshots summarizing key cost metrics and trends.
      • Quarterly expense analysis packets providing deeper insights into spending and efficiency.
      • Department-level reports outlining headcount, vendor costs, and operational expenses.
      • Help track and analyze key cost drivers — such as vendor contracts, technology, and operational costs — to improve forecast accuracy and identify potential savings.
      • Update forecasts regularly based on actuals, business changes, and emerging cost patterns to support financial planning.
  • Expense Decision Support:
    • Support annual expense planning, working with teams to gather, consolidate, and prepare budget inputs.
    • Assist with ad hoc expense analysis in response to leadership requests.
    • Contribute to decision-support projects, helping model cost scenarios and explore operational efficiencies.

 

Ideal Candidate Background:

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, Consulting, or similar role.
  • Advanced Excel (comfortable with cleaning and manipulating large data sets, pivot tables, lookups, multiple nested if statements, charts, graphs, and financial modeling) and PowerPoint skills
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft PowerPoint (able to manipulate PowerPoint to work hand in hand with Excel).
  • Experience with long-term planning models, coordinating across teams to align on short- and long-term assumptions, and allocating department costs.
  • Experience with margin and variance analyses, and proactive in investigating the “why.”
  • FP&A experience at a global investment company strongly preferred.

Location: Applicants are expected to work onsite in our San Francisco office in accordance with our hybrid working policy. 

 

Compensation Range: ICONIQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role, together with other compensation being offered such as a discretionary bonus, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At ICONIQ, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation terms. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $130,000 - 150,000 together with a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits program.
