You'll gain exposure to our manufacturers and product lines, build an understanding of commercial HVAC applications, and see how technical solutions are developed around each customer's project needs.

This hands-on internship combines engineering, project coordination, customer interaction, and sales support. You'll receive feedback from experienced team members while building skills for a future career in HVAC sales engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Inside and Outside Sales Engineers to support commercial HVAC projects from initial design and estimating through order, delivery, and project completion.
  • Review mechanical plans, specifications, schedules, and other project documents to understand design intent and equipment requirements.
  • Assist with selecting and applying HVAC equipment based on project specifications, performance requirements, customer needs, and manufacturer capabilities.
  • Support the preparation of equipment estimates, pricing, quotations, proposals, design alternatives, and value-engineering options.
  • Coordinate equipment information, pricing, availability, lead times, and technical requirements with manufacturers and internal teams.
  • Prepare and organize technical submittals, product data, IOM documentation, and other project materials.
  • Organize and verify project information for order entry and equipment release.
  • Track project schedules, equipment lead times, ship dates, open questions, and assigned follow-up items.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, consulting engineers, manufacturers, and internal team members under the guidance of the sales team.
  • Create and maintain accurate job files, project records, and customer information within company systems.
  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities while meeting deadlines and keeping the project team informed of progress or concerns.
  • Help investigate technical or project concerns, identify possible solutions, and support the team through resolution.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations, and project discussions as needed.
  • Continue building knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, applications, ICS product lines, manufacturers, and industry practices.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • Ideally entering junior or senior year by Summer 2027.
  • Interest in commercial HVAC, building systems, technical sales, estimating, engineering, construction, or project management.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability and interest to learn HVAC equipment, systems, and applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical plans, specifications, or other technical documentation is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused and team-oriented approach.
  • Curious, dependable, and comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and taking ownership of assigned work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the ability to learn other business and technical software.
  • Familiarity with CAD, HVAC selection software, MEP design, mechanical contracting, or commercial construction is a plus.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
