Job Summary

  • Provide advice and guidance to the Chief Compliance Officer, senior management, and business lines regarding compliance with non-AML/BSA laws and regulations with a focus on privacy and non-lending consumer regulations (i.e. Regs E, D, DD, CC, ADA, UDAAP, Elder Abuse, E-Sign)
  • Effective management and remediation of all internal and regulatory examinations and reviews, including interacting with the Bank’s regulators regarding any pending matters or request items.
  • Manage the Bank’s Privacy and Identity Theft Programs
  • Manage the Bank’s Regulatory Change Management, Complaint and Ongoing Monitoring Programs
  • Manage staff
  • Report directly to the Banks Chief Compliance Officer

Job Description

  • Responsible for overseeing the aspects of the General Compliance Program relating to privacy, non-lending consumer regulations, regulatory changes and ongoing monitoring
  • Assist with General Compliance, UDAAP and Fair Lending Risk Assessments
  • Oversee the Regulatory Change Management Program in assessing and implementing new or changing laws and regulatory requirements
  • Provide subject matter expertise on training materials and audience identification pertaining to privacy and non-lending consumer regulations
  • Review and approve new Time Deposit Terms and Conditions and related marketing materials and disclosures
  • Work with business units to identify and interpret any issues arising from the introduction of new or existing products and/or services with a focus on UDAAP, privacy and deposit regulations
  • Manage and report on the Bank’s Complaint Program including any noticeable trends
  • Provide periodic compliance updates to Senior Management and Committees of the Board, as necessary
  • Represent the Compliance Department in relevant meetings
  • Maintain a current knowledge of consumer compliance regulations and compliance best practices and recommend changes, as necessary
  • Ad hoc projects as required

Qualifications

  • 5 plus years’ experience of increasing responsibility working for either a regulatory agency examining banks or in a bank within the Compliance or Legal Departments providing advice and/or guidance on banking regulations and laws.
  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A law degree is desired but not required, as is prior employment by a banking regulator.
  • Ability to work with and independently from Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively and effectively interact with the Bank’s regulators, business lines, and other areas of the Bank
  • Strong communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with others at all levels across the organization.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate sizable amounts of information relating to complex issues, maintain professionalism, diplomacy, and the ability to use discretion when making decisions, be creative and innovative in problem solving, and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines under a fast-moving environment.
  • Effectively provide solutions and direction, multi-task, excellent time and resource management skills, work independently, problem solve, and deliver results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in MS Office.

Compensation
The expected annual salary for this position is between $160,000 and $180,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual’s skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
