We are in search of a Marketing Tech Contractor who will partner with the Global Marketing Team in our San Francisco Studio. This role reports directly to the Head of Brand at IDEO.

In a Nutshell:

We're looking for a digitally savvy marketing technology practitioner who loves bringing order to complexity and sees systems as an opportunity to create better experiences. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both shaping best practices and rolling up their sleeves to execute + connecting the dots between technology, data, content, and people across websites, CRM systems, email marketing, reporting, and marketing operations. You're energized by making marketing efforts work smarter, not harder, and thrive at the intersection of strategy, systems, and execution.

Once here you will:

Website & Digital Platform Management

  • Manage and maintain IDEO's marketing websites and landing pages
    • Experience with Webflow would be a nice-to-have
    • Experience with manual microsite deployment via SFTP a nice-to-have
  • Coordinate with designers and developers to implement site updates and improvements
  • Monitor website performance, SEO, metadata, and user experience
  • Partner with Technology and Legal teams to support privacy, cookie, and compliance requirements
    • Experience with consent management systems such as Ethyca would be a nice-to-have
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for website optimization

Email & Marketing Operations

  • Support the design, setup, testing, and deployment of email campaigns and newsletters
  • Maintain email templates, audience lists, and campaign workflows
    • Experience with HubSpot would be a nice-to-have
  • Ensure campaign tracking and reporting are implemented consistently

CRM & Lead Management

  • Manage marketing-related CRM forms, workflows, and reporting
  • Support lead capture, routing, and data quality processes
  • Partner with business development teams to improve lead visibility and follow-up

Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain marketing dashboards and reporting systems
    • Experience with GA4 would be a nice-to-have
  • Track website, email, and campaign performance
  • Deliver regular insights and recommendations to marketing stakeholders

Campaign Enablement

  • Partner with global and regional marketing teams to support the technical execution of marketing activations
  • Ensure owned-channel campaigns are properly configured, launched, and measured
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to support digital sales enablement efforts

Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend improvements to marketing processes, tools, and workflows
  • Stay current on emerging marketing technology and AI capabilities that could improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on marketing technology best practices

Qualifications / Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in marketing operations, digital marketing, website management, marketing technology, or a related discipline
  • Experience managing websites and digital platforms, with an eye toward creating intuitive, high-quality user experiences
  • A working knowledge of SEO, metadata, website performance, analytics, and digital best practices
  • Experience partnering across disciplines—working with designers, developers, marketers, legal teams, and technology partners to bring ideas to life
  • Familiarity with marketing automation, CRM systems, lead management processes, and campaign operations
  • Experience supporting email marketing programs, from setup and testing to deployment and performance measurement
  • Confidence working with data, dashboards, and reporting tools to uncover insights and inform decisions
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • A thoughtful approach to privacy, compliance, and responsible stewardship of customer data
  • Excellent communication skills and a knack for translating technical details into clear, actionable recommendations

Payscale & Benefits

IDEO is committed to paying its employees, contractors & vendors equitably, regardless of gender identity or race/ethnicity/cultural identity. 

The hourly rate for this role is $50-75 USD, 20hours per week for a 6 month duration (with possibility to convert to FTE). Final offers may vary based on candidate experience, location, and other factors.

As a part-time, temporary position, this role is not eligible for full-time employee benefits. However, this position offers meaningful collaboration with IDEO teams and integration into project work and studio culture and the potential for growth contingent on business needs.
