Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the overall data architecture strategy, including data models for product, data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines for enterprise.
  • Define standards for data governance, data quality, metadata, and security.
  • Work closely with Engineering to implement high-quality data models and best practices across graph-based and traditional architectures.
  • Build and maintain logical and physical data models that support both analytical and operational use cases, with an emphasis on graph data modeling and semantic relationships.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into scalable data solutions, including graph-based solutions for relationship-driven use cases.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement data-related tools, platforms, and frameworks, including modern graph databases.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, FedRAMP) related to data storage and usage.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance and data workflows, including for graph workloads and query performance.
  • Provide guidance on master data management, data lineage, and data cataloging.
  • Coach and advocate for graph database technologies and data models across the organization, including executive leadership, product management, and engineering teams.
  • Promote the adoption of graph database capabilities by demonstrating business value and use case alignment through education and mentorship.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and architecture for a large SaaS company or a mature startup.
  • 10+ years of experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed data processing systems that solve complex customer problems.
  • Proven expertise in data modeling for both relational and graph database systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work with other Engineers and teams to help them arrive at optimal technical implementations.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).\
  • Deep expertise with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or similar), including implementation, query optimization, and schema design.
  • Experience designing and advocating for graph-based data architectures and data models across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

 

The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role.

$212,602 - $250,000 USD

Mountain View, CA Pay Range

$248,750 - $295,926 USD
