Director of Human Resources Operations (Hybrid)

Job Summary: 

The Director of Human Resources Operations is responsible for providing oversight for and management of all operational functions for Human Resources. This position is focused on creating and delivering high-impact, compliant HR solutions across the function and the overall organization to support business objectives. This is a hybrid role, requiring the Director to work onsite in the Irvine office three days per week. The Director will support development of programs and processes, policies and procedures, in compliance with federal, state, international regulations for US and global workforce.

 

Job Expectations:

  • Partners closely with SVP, US and Global HR leadership team and HR Business Partners to optimize HR operations processes and programs

  • Provides support to HR Business Partners to ensure alignment and bridge duties for all locations

  • Provides leadership to and direct supervision of the HR operations team through effective coaching and performance management

  • Oversees HR legal compliance in partnership with SVP and iHerb legal department

  • Partners with legal team to assist in responding on company’s behalf on agency related claims for federal and state agencies such as EEOC/DFEH

  • Conducts investigations on team member related issues, including complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment and other work-related issues; recommends appropriate resolution of complaints, monitors results, writes summary reports, makes discipline recommendations in partnership with the management team

  • Provides advice, interpretation on company policies and procedures, and coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries

  • Acts as a coach to management on team member performance, employee relations issues and other team member management programs 

  • Oversees the absence management leave programs and processes to ensure compliance with company policy as well as state and federal regulations (FMLA, PDL, CFRA, ADA, USERRA), and for accommodation processes

  • Lead change through process mapping, continuous improvement and communication planning

  • Develops, recommends and implements HR policies and procedures, oversees and maintains team member handbooks for US, Out of State, Global locations

  • Provides support to the SVP for US and Global HR deliverables and projects as required

  • Manages the design, development, and delivery of management and team member focused programs 

  • Seek, identify, and share HR best practices throughout the HR organization, implement appropriate business processes and internal controls

  • Support with a variety of HR related initiatives including but not limited to cultural innovations, flexible work schedules, telecommuting, work from home program resulting from work environment changes

  • Supports company performance management from a process and system aspect

  • Oversees the off-boarding process by ensuring termination documentation is prepared, coordinating final pay with the Payroll department, conducting termination meetings and notifying appropriate personnel

  • Maintains confidentiality with sensitive information, documents, e-mails and in handling team member relations issues, inquiries, complaints, leaves of absences

  • May provide guidance regarding Corporate training and conduct HR related training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

   

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding human resource operations including: benefits, employment, wage and hour regulations, ADA, EEO, NLRB, leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA/PDL/USERRA)

  • Ability to research and interpret employment laws and regulatory changes, keeping up to date to assist with implementing revisions 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to conduct presentations, facilitate meetings and provide training

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization

  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to use logic, reasoning and factual data to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

  • Ability to accept criticism, and to calmly and effectively deal with high stress situations

  • Ability to be sensitive to other’s needs/feelings, and the ability to take an objective position when gathering facts regarding sensitive matters

  • Ability to work independently including the ability to research and resolve issues with minimal supervision

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment 

  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Ability to locally travel up to 50%

 

Equipment Knowledge: 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word)

  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)

  • Experience with Workday program preferred

 

Experience Requirements:

Generally requires a minimum of 12 years of Human Resources experience with multi-disciplinary knowledge of Human Resources systems, employment law, technology and processes; six to eight (6-8) years of progressive leadership experience.

 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

 

Judgment/Reasoning Ability:  Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.  Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner. 

 

Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. The Team Member is frequently required to sit, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop and reach with hands and arms.  Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day.  The Team Member may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 25 pounds.  Proper lifting techniques required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • This is a hybrid role, with 3 days onsite in the Irvine office per week
  • Ability to work extended hours as required

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work.  The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.  iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.

Hired applicant may be awarded Restrict Stock Units and receive annual bonuses pursuant to eligibility and performance criteria defined in the respective plan documents and policies.

$162,190 - $221,169 USD
