About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Sr. Healthcare Integrations Engineer to join our Care Delivery Integrations team as our company continues to scale. This is a critical role where you will be responsible for helping our radiology platform scale as we integrate with new customers, internal data systems, and AI tools to improve the productivity of our practice.

Your primary focus will be to build features to support new workflows, and scale our operations teams efficiently. This involves expertise in clinical data standards, DICOM, HL7, and EMR/EHR integrations. A key requirement for this role is being well-versed in middleware technologies (IRIS, Mirth), including the processes of building, monitoring, and optimizing these systems to ensure seamless and high-throughput data flow. You will manage the entire lifecycle of our integration pipelines to ensure reliable integration with our AI devices and clinical systems.

This role includes providing client-facing support to key partners, ensuring our patient care delivery meets or exceeds expectations. We need a Sr. Healthcare Integration Engineer with deep healthcare and technical experience who can apply creative thinking and innovative solutions within our highly regulated industry.

In this role, you will help shape the strategy and drive execution of our integration infrastructure, guiding the development efforts to connect and manage data pipelines. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who is passionate about building robust, scalable integrated solutions, workflows, and data exchange systems and wants to see their work have a tangible impact on patient outcomes. You will initially report to the Director of Integrations, with the opportunity to grow this function over time.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive design, development, and implementation of complex, integrated solutions to deliver new radiology products and new customer onboarding.
  • Design, build, monitor, and optimize robust integration pipelines for ingesting and transforming clinical data, including medical images (DICOM), HL7 messages, and clinical reports.
  • Lead technical efforts for new customer integrations, serving as a client-facing resource to configure, test, and optimize connectivity which includes implementing data validation and quality frameworks at the point of ingress to ensure patient care delivery meets expectations.
  • Serve as a technical partner for Product, AI, and Engineering teams. You will collaborate closely to understand new product requirements and build integrated solutions and workflows that accelerate the delivery and performance of our AI devices and clinical systems

Required Qualifications: 

  • Mission-driven and passionate about building foundational technology to improve healthcare
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with systems integration, or software engineering within healthcare.
  • 2+ years of experience in a senior role, with a proven track record of owning technical roadmaps and making significant architectural decisions.
  • Advanced-level proficiency in Intersystems IRIS (or equivalent interface engine) and good programming fundamentals which include object-oriented programming and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with other modern data integration technologies, such as:
    • DICOM Routers (Laurel Bridge Compass, Mirth, UltraRad).
    • Integration Engines (e.g., Mirth, Intersystems Iris, Rhapsody).
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent real-world experience
  • Experience working with healthcare data standards (e.g., DICOM, HL7, FHIR).
  • Located in the PST timezone OR open to working PST hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with integrating DICOM heavy solutions from multiple medical imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MR, XR, Ultrasound)
  • Direct experience integrating using FHIR or other API standards with modern EHR/EMR/PACs technologies.
  • Direct experience integrating using DICOMweb and DIMSE protocols. 
  • Managing a diverse ecosystem of integrated clinical systems. 
  • Experience with AWS for Healthcare

Imagen Technologies is a remote-first company and this job is conducted remotely. 

 

The base salary is between $125,000 - $140,000, plus equity and benefits. Please note that the range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
