Material Handler
Primary Accountability:
The Material Handler will be responsible for the loading and unloading of materials and finished products. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, telehandlers, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks, racking and floor locations. Records the movement of materials and products and ensures the inventory accuracy of such products. May also transport material to and from offsite locations with a company truck and trailer. Needs to be able to understand 2-dimensional part drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move large materials to the next step of the manufacturing process.
- Accurately receive items such as material or parts.
- Safely load and ship large items onto trucks, ensuring that the load will not be damaged on the route to the customer.
- Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to verify material and/or parts needed for transport.
- Attend company training programs and follow procedures as outlined in training.
- Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with fellow team members and department leaders.
- May be needed to transport material and/or parts to offsite locations using supplied 1 ton truck and trailer.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement.
- Ability to complete work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
Physical Demands:
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to fifty (50) pounds
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.
- Use hands to handle, install, position, move and manipulate materials.
Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to extreme cold and heat
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
- Moderate to high noise level
- Interaction with team members in a respectful manner
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, overtime, and weekends as required.
- Wear required PPE for work being performed.
