
Estimator, Manufacturing
Primary Accountability:
As an estimator at IMI, you’ll develop and present accurate and complete estimates based on preliminary and final evaluations which will provide our customers with high quality solutions. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing estimates within the scope of work while growing new relationships and cultivating existing relationships. You'll be a valuable member of our team, developing and maintaining strong partnerships with vendors and customers, you’ll be the person they think of when they think of us, and we know they’ll think highly of you because you’ll be the partner they trust to bring their project to life. We’ll appreciate your solutions-oriented approach, your estimating know-how, your impressive relationship-building, communication, and teamwork skills, and the way we can count on you to get things done - and get them done well.
In this role, you will:
- Develop a full understanding of IMI estimating policies, procedures, and company/industry standards.
- Identify scope of work, perform quantity analysis, and prepare cost estimates.
- Build and develop vendor relations and strategies
- Solicit quotations from material vendors and subcontractors, evaluate responses and make recommendations.
- Create written proposals and corresponding presentations to ensure that customer needs and expectations are clearly communicated and accurately documented.
- Receive, review, and process costing inquiries from both internal and external sources.
- Develop schedules that accurately reflect the scope of the work and confirm alignment with priorities and resource allocation. Critical path must be defined.
- Communicate regularly with supply chain to ensure most recent and accurate pricing is available.
- Communicate regularly with operations management to ensure the most recent labor rates are available.
- Review and assist with development of project scope.
- Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

- You have minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (Construction or Material Handling preferred) and a college degree (Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
- You have or wish to pursue your PCEA certification or something similar.
Physical Demands:
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodation.

- Ability to read computer screens, email and talk on the phone.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Ability to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
Work Environment:
- Professional and deadline-oriented environment in an office setting.
- Interaction with team members and clients in both remote and on-site locations.
- Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.
