
Production Coordinator
Primary Accountability:
The Production Coordinator supports the smooth and timely flow of production activities within the manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating production schedules, issuing and tracking work orders, supporting material procurement, and ensuring that job-related information is accurate and complete. Working closely with multiple departments, this role plays a key part in helping the company meet customer deadlines and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
Major Duties:
Production Scheduling and Work Order Management
- Issue and update work orders based on the kanban scheduling system and job requirements.
- Track job progress on the production floor and provide timely updates to appropriate team members.
- Coordinate with outside processors to ensure timely completion of subcontracted work.
- Maintain accurate digital and paper job documentation throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Material Coordination
- Assist with ordering and tracking materials and hardware for jobs in accordance with internal purchasing procedures.
- Ensure all material costs are properly allocated to the correct job in the system.
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Shipping to coordinate work and resolve job-related issues.
- Communicate proactively with internal teams to address potential delays or obstacles in production.
Quality and Accuracy
- Perform checks to verify that work order details and job documentation are accurate and ready for production.
- Support quality and safety initiatives by reporting inconsistencies and following procedures.
Metrics and Continuous Improvement
- Assist in gathering and reporting data for key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery and material accuracy.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and support standardization efforts in the department.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree or technical training preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing, production control, or project coordination role.
- Proficient in using basic computer software, calculators, and weight scales. Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word are most commonly used.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
- Be highly adaptable and possess the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Demands:
- Physically mobile with ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items on a concrete surface.
- Ability to lift up to forty (25) pounds.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office and shop floor environments.
- Fast-paced with tight deadlines and frequent cross-departmental communication.
