About This Role
The Nurse Practitioner (APRN / NP) serves as the provider and leader in the infusion clinic. They provide direct patient care, including medication administration, while leading a team of ancillary clinicians in the clinic to deliver the highest standard of care possible.
Duties
- Administer intravenous and injection therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician.
- Deliver comprehensive patient care services such as obtaining vital signs, conducting patient assessments, reviewing health histories, administering pre-medications, performing lab draws, and managing central venous access, including maintenance and removal.
- Determine appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site and establish IV access.
- Ensure the prescribed therapy is appropriate for the patient, facilitate patient consultations and health history reviews, and provide care information and educational resources to patients and caregivers.
- Develop and revise Plan of Care / Plan of Treatment.
- Perform assessments, physical examinations, and screenings.
- Review/interpret, order, and administer appropriate testing, including blood work, as necessary.
- Thoroughly document observations and all care delivered to the patient including lab results, immunization records, and changes in condition timely in the patient’s record.
- Mix/prepare medication per policy and procedures, while maintaining sterile technique.
- Monitor patient progress, watch for potential reactions, and address any reactions per protocol.
- Promptly notify the physician and relevant personnel (such as the clinical director and management) of any reactions or changes in the patient’s condition.
- Interact with referring providers regarding patients, and receive and document verbal orders.
- Discharge patients from service timely and in accordance with established policies.
- Demonstrate proper infection control techniques and follow universal precautions.
- Track, order, and receive inventory from approved vendors and pharmacies, ensuring proper storage and handling, and participate in inventory cycle counts.
- Update knowledge and skills by attending in-service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self-study programs annually.
- Adhere to Medicare, Medicaid, and all applicable state regulations and guidelines.
- Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the clinic and will work closely with leadership to ensure company policies and procedures are followed, the clinic is audited, and all quality issues are resolved and reported, quality management meetings are held, and led quarterly, and reporting is performed to drive quality of care, compliance, and safety.

Requirements
- Current, unrestricted nurse practitioner license in the state of practice
- Minimum of two years of infusion nursing experience
- Minimum of one year of management experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must possess a strong work ethic and team mentality, with excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, providers, and coworkers
Preferred Experiences
- Infusion experience with biologics and/or specialty medications
- Prior experience with ambulatory infusion center software or EMR
- An advanced practitioner with independent practice capabilities in approved states

Pay: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour
