Scientist II, Analytical, Antibody and ADC Sciences
Company Overview
Immunome is a clinical-stage targeted oncology company committed to developing first- and best-in-class targeted therapies designed to improve outcomes for cancer patients. We are advancing an innovative portfolio of therapeutics, drawing on leadership that previously played key roles in the design, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge targeted cancer therapies, including antibody-drug conjugate therapies (ADCs.) Our most advanced pipeline programs are varegacestat (formerly AL102), a gamma secretase inhibitor which is currently in a Phase 3 trial for treatment of desmoid tumors, IM-1021, a ROR1 ADC with an active IND, and IM-3050, a FAP-targeted radioligand, which is the subject of an IND expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2025. Our pipeline also includes IM-1617, IM-1335, and IM-1340, all of which are preclinical ADCs pursuing undisclosed targets with expression in multiple solid tumors.
Position Overview
As a key member of our analytical sciences team, this person will be responsible for conducting comprehensive characterization of antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) using a variety of analytical techniques, including mass-spec, HIC, SEC, DSC, CD, LC-MS, IEX, and RP-HPLC. The person will develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for the characterization of biologics and ADCs, and ensuring quality and reliability of results. Additional responsibilities include data analysis and interpretation of results for complex biologics such as bispecifics and communicate results to teams to support the development of ADCs.
The role requires organization and maintenance of detailed records of experiments, and results ensuring good lab practices. Experience with Benchling or Genedata like platforms for data uploads and documentation is preferred. The person will work with a team of scientists across multiple disciplines including antibody and ADC conjugation teams contributing to the timely progress of research projects and the overall success of the program. The scientist will effectively communicate the data and update at the group meetings and cross-functional team meetings in a clear and concise fashion.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test Analytical Methods: Design, develop, and test fit for purpose analytical methods specifically for the characterization of biologics and ADCs, including proteins, antibodies, and conjugated molecules.
- Conduct Analytical Testing: Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using techniques such as SEC, RP-HPLC, HIC, peptide mapping by mass spec, DSC and other related biophysical and chromatographic techniques by assessing project needs and priorities
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide insights into the properties, stability, and behavior of biologics and ADCs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments, analyses, and results. Use Benchling for good lab practices. Prepare technical reports if needed, and support presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with antibody, ADC, and tech ops teams to support attribute analysis of antibody and ADC development candidate
- Instrument Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments to ensure optimal performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in analytical techniques and technologies relevant to biologics and ADCs. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and throughput.
- Effective Presentations: Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and effective presentations of data in team and department meetings.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Master’s, or 2 with a PhD.
- Demonstrated experienced with analytical instrumentation and characterization techniques such for complex biologics such as Mass Spec, Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC) HPLC, Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS), Ion Exchange (IEX), DSC, CD, and Reversed Phase (RP) HPLC.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experienced in data analysis using relevant software tools and graphs.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot experimental issues.
- Strong attention to detail for control samples required for method development and analysis.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively on a real time basis in alignment with expected quality, urgency and speed for deliverables.
