Scientist II/Sr Scientist, Antibody Discovery

Bothell, Washington, United States

Company Overview

Immunome is a clinical-stage targeted oncology company committed to developing first- and best-in-class targeted therapies designed to improve outcomes for cancer patients. We are advancing an innovative portfolio of therapeutics, drawing on leadership that previously played key roles in the design, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge targeted cancer therapies, including antibody-drug conjugate therapies (ADCs.) Our most advanced pipeline programs are varegacestat (formerly AL102), a gamma secretase inhibitor which is currently in a Phase 3 trial for treatment of desmoid tumors, IM-1021, a ROR1 ADC with an active IND, and IM-3050, a FAP-targeted radioligand, which is the subject of an IND expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2025. Our pipeline also includes IM-1617, IM-1335, and IM-1340, all of which are preclinical ADCs pursuing undisclosed targets with expression in multiple solid tumors.

Position Overview

This is a lab focused role that will involve the discovery and screening of antibodies and the tissue culture necessary to support these screening efforts.  This will include flow based multiparameter analysis, cell sorting, as well as assay development to enable lead antibody candidate identification for ADCs.

Key Responsibilities

Research Design and Execution:

  • Screening antibodies by flow cytometry, immunoassays, and cell-based functional assays.
  • Antibody discovery assays and platform development.
  • Tissue culture including generation of antigen expressing cells and generation of cell banks.
  • An understanding of molecular biology as well as an understanding of target protein structure and function generally and in relation to antibody generation
  • A background in antibody discovery, such as generation of hybridoma or single B cell cloning, flow analysis for antigen positive B cells, or growing B cells.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Analyze and summarize experimental data from assays described above.
  • Interpret results and communicate implications to developing technologies.

Project Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with colleagues from diverse scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and translational medicine to achieve project goals.
  • Organize data for ease of collaboration with other research teams.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic laboratory notebooks documenting experimental procedures, results, and conclusions.
  • Prepare and present research findings to internal teams and contribute to project updates and strategic discussions.

Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in techniques for producing and characterizing protein therapeutics.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and contribute to the scientific growth of the research team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, immunology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience for Bachelor’s, 6 years of experience for Master’s, or 2 years of experience for Ph.D. in preclinical drug development in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in Antibody Discovery.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong experience with tissue culture.
  • Strong experience with multiparameter flow cytometry including identification of rare populations is a must.
  • Experience with cell-based functional assays is must.
  • Experience with Octet or similar instrument is a plus.
  • Experience with antibody discovery workflows is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of molecular biology and protein structure-function.
