
Director, IT Planning and Program Management

Position Overview
Immunome is hiring a Director, IT Planning and Program Management to help build and lead our internal IT Project Management Office (IT PMO) from the ground up. This role will establish portfolio governance and decision-making practices, standardize project delivery, and improve transparency and predictability across IT and technology-enabled initiatives. The Director will partner closely with IT and business leaders across Research, Tech Ops, Development, Commercial, and G&A functions to drive predictable delivery of infrastructure and enterprise system implementations that enable scale, portfolio advancement, and commercial readiness in a regulated life sciences environment.
Responsibilities
Establish and Lead the IT PMO Operating Model
- Build Immunome’s enterprise IT PMO from the ground up, including the operating rhythm, standards, templates, and portfolio performance metrics.
- Define how projects are governed and delivered (IT-led, business-led, and vendor-led) and set clear roles and expectations for project managers and functional project leads.
- Own IT portfolio financial management (business cases, forecasting, vendor spend tracking, planning and budgeting, and reporting of spend vs actuals) in partnership with IT leadership and Finance.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the IT PMO team, including internal project managers and external contractors/consulting partners, scaling the team structure, capabilities, and capacity in alignment with company growth and portfolio demand.
Portfolio Intake, Prioritization, and Capacity-Based Planning
- Implement end-to-end demand intake and portfolio planning, including intake criteria, business case expectations, prioritization methods, and sequencing.
- Maintain portfolio roadmaps and dependency management, and partner with IT and business leaders to align priorities to capacity, funding, and critical milestones using scenario-based planning across internal teams and external partners.
Governance, Decision Support, and Executive Visibility
- Establish governance processes that enable timely decisions for technology investment, system selection, and program execution (including escalation paths and decision-ready materials).
- Support and help run the IT Steering Committee (ITSC) under the direction of the committee Chair; provide regular IT portfolio updates to committee members.
- Drive transparent reporting on schedule, risks/issues, dependencies, and delivery health across the portfolio.
- Define portfolio success measures including adoption, operational readiness, and value realization, and lead post implementation reviews to improve delivery performance and business outcomes.
Program Execution Excellence
- Drive consistent project controls across the portfolio (scope, schedule, change control, stakeholder communications) and coach project managers/project leads.
- Provide delivery governance for vendor-led initiatives, ensuring accountability to plans, milestones, acceptance criteria, and risk management.
Regulated, Audit-Ready Delivery and PMO Enablement
- Develop and maintain IT PMO policies, procedures, and SOPs aligned with FDA/GxP expectations; ensure project delivery practices support regulated system implementation and validation/assurance.
- Advise on IT PMO tooling and workflows (e.g., Smartsheet, ServiceNow, Box GxP/SharePoint) and drive adoption through training and change management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in IT project/program/portfolio management and/or PMO leadership; life sciences/biotech experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and scaling PMO frameworks in growing or transforming organizations.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex enterprise system and infrastructure implementations in a high growth life sciences organization across R&D and G&A functions.
- PMP certification and ITIL v4 certification or equivalent credentials are a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong command of project, program, and portfolio management methodologies; experience establishing governance models and executive-level reporting.
- Working knowledge of regulated environments and enterprise controls, including relevant concepts such as SOX, privacy (e.g., GDPR), and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
- Experience supporting validation/assurance approaches (CSV/CSA) and third-party risk management (TPRM) in GxP-regulated environments.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, able to build business cases, forecast and track spend, and translate portfolio data into decision ready insights for executives.
- Proficiency with PMO tools used for portfolio planning, reporting, and governance (e.g., Smartsheet, ServiceNow, Box GxP/SharePoint, Teams/Zoom).
- Proven ability to create policies, SOPs, and training programs that drive adoption and consistent execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influence skills; ability to lead through ambiguity and align cross-functional teams.
- High integrity and sound judgment when handling sensitive systems, data, and business-critical initiatives.
Washington State Pay Range
$199,498 - $235,000 USD
