Your Role at Impact.com:
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for working hands-on to provision applications on multiple cloud platforms, designing and implementing DevOps principles that use those platforms, becoming a subject matter expert in troubleshooting and resolving complex, multi-tier architecture problems, planning and executing technical tasks associated with the implementation and maintenance of virtualisation and containerised cloud infrastructure, as well as contributing to roadmap planning, coordinating and execution to drive the achievement of business objectives and KPIs.
What You'll Do:
This role requires you to be a CI/CD subject matter expert that’s more on the Dev side of DevOps. You’ll do the following:
- Become familiar with technologies used by the squad - GCP, AWS, Terraform, Terrakube, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Gradle, Docker, GKE, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, SonarQube, Sonatype Nexus & Lifecycle, Prometheus, Grafana, MySQL
- Maintain & continuously improve CI/CD pipelines & staging provisioning pipelines that drive feature development
- Collaborate with a distributed team to fulfill the department's quarterly objectives
- Automate recurring manual tasks & iteratively optimize those tasks
- Perform code reviews
- Research and prototype new technologies
- Write and maintain documentation
- Support software development squads in multiple timezones to:
- Onboard new micro services
- Grant required permissions
- Respond to alerts & ad hoc CI/CD related issues, review error messages, and fix bugs in a timely manner to unblock feature development hindrances to meet sprint timelines
- Support software testing and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
What You Have:
- Excellent communication skills & high proficiency in English
- At least 4 years of experience in the tech industry
- A solid understanding of the Linux operating system
- Experience with IaC (infrastructure of code) tools to drive automation and self service, preferably Hashicorp Terraform
- Experience with coding and scripting languages like Groovy, Java, Nodejs, Python and Shell.
- The ability to identify, evaluate, and integrate diverse open-source technologies and cloud services.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google
- Experience with business tools like Atlassian Jira & Confluence
- Experience with Kubernetes, whether that’s GKE, AKS, EKS, OpenShift, etc
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc
- Experience with Git version control, preferable GitHub
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across staging and production environments
