Your Role at impact.com:

As a QA Automation Engineer on the Campaigns squad, you will serve as a key guardian of quality for features that help our customers achieve the best results on our platform. Our commerce partnership platform transforms the way businesses grow, and your work will be used by hundreds of thousands and seen by millions worldwide.

This role is a unique opportunity to drive continuous improvement in quality while satisfying the specific needs of the Campaign squad. We want an individual who will challenge the norm, strive to create the best experiences, and always put the customer first. You will work within a modern tech stack—including Java, Vue micro-frontends—and play a pivotal role in migrating our existing Selenium test suite to Playwright. We value a "quality over quantity" approach; we want someone who possesses a strong testing mindset to solve the problem of flaky, low-value tests, knowing what to test rather than just maximizing test volume.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Automation & Technical Execution

  • Architect Stable Automation: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts as part of sprint and regression cycles, with a strong focus on migrating our legacy Selenium suite to Playwright.
  • API & CI/CD Testing: Automate API tests and integrate test cases into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality and reduce testing lead times.
  • GenAI Utilization: Leverage Generative AI tools to improve test creation efficiency, analyze failures, and optimize testing strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support the continuous improvement of the QA automation framework by adding new test coverage, refining existing scripts, and tracking test metrics like coverage and flakiness.

Manual Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Deep Exploratory Testing: Leverage your manual testing background to dive into quality assurance checks during internal development, understanding the user journey to spot logical inconsistencies.
  • Targeted Coverage: Prioritize a testing matrix and apply various testing methods (exploratory, scenario-based, regression) to get the best return on testing time.
  • Bug Lifecycle Management: Analyze test results, identify and report defects in Jira, and collaborate with developers to ensure timely fixes and see them through to resolution. Participate in bug triage and release readiness reviews.

Squad Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate with the Squad: Work closely with developers, QA leads, and product owners to understand story requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and identify edge cases before code is written.
  • Clear Documentation: Prepare and maintain essential test plan documentation and test cases using TestRail and Jira. Ensure all test cases, scenarios, and automation code are clearly documented and easily executable by others.
  • Quality Champion: Act as a quality champion, sharing knowledge, resolving blockers, and supporting fellow team members to elevate the squad's testing practices.

What You Bring:

  • Strong Testing Mindset: A deeply analytical thinking process where you prioritize what to test over simply knowing how to automate it.
  • Testing Experience: Proven experience of 4+ years in both manual and automated software testing, including in-depth experience in writing and executing test plans.
  • Automation Frameworks: Strong familiarity with test automation tools; Playwright is strongly preferred, though Selenium is acceptable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic proficiency in Java or a similar language for writing and maintaining tests.
    • Experience automating API tests.
    • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
    • Ability to utilize GenAI in your daily testing workflows.
  • Agile Collaboration: Experience working independently within a scrum team, participating in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups), and using version control systems like Git.

Nice To Have:

  • Tech Stack Exposure: Familiarity with our specific environment components, including Vue micro-frontends and Java.
  • SaaS Environment: Familiarity with testing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products.
  • Database Knowledge: Understanding of database design and the ability to use SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 CAD per year, plus an additional 5% variable annual bonus contingent on Company performance with eligibility to receive Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant. *This is the pay range the Company believes is equitable for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
