Team Overview:

As a Software Development Engineer in Test on the Reader Firmware Team, you will focus on developing the software systems used to test Impinj RAIN RFID readers and putting them to use to test the product. Our goals are to constantly improve the quality of our products, improve our development productivity, and follow all regulatory requirements.

What you will do:

  • Develop software and systems for testing RAIN RFID Reader products including libraries, frameworks, automated test cases, and debugging tools
  • Evaluate existing software test systems for quality, reliability, and scalability and suggest efforts to update and improve them
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and product teams to understand requirements, create test plans based on them, and build necessary software test systems to accomplish your plan
  • Analyze and investigate test automation failures and clearly communicate these results via bugs and other reports
  • Represent the Test discipline in your assigned agile feature teams
  • When necessary, set up test fixtures in our lab and manually run tests that cannot be fully automated

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of professional experience developing or testing with an object-oriented programming language.  We use Python, but don’t let this dissuade you from applying if you’ve used C# or similar
