Job Summary

The People Operations Business Partner will work closely with our departments to implement people initiatives that support business objectives while enhancing our organizational culture. This role connects HR functions with daily business operations, using people data to help implement effective workforce practices. With a strong focus on recruitment and talent acquisition, the successful candidate will support department leaders with their team's HR needs in our fast-paced, high-growth tech environment while ensuring consistent application of company-wide policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership

  • Support departments to understand their workforce needs and challenges, serving as their primary HR contact
  • Help connect departmental goals with appropriate people practices and policies
  • Provide managers with useful HR data and metrics to help with team planning and hiring forecasts
  • Attend department meetings to offer HR guidance and collect feedback on people initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Head of People and leadership to identify talent gaps and develop recruitment strategies to meet business objectives

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Actively execute recruitment efforts for assigned teams, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings
  • Partner with hiring managers during recruitment processes to help them find and select the right candidates
  • Support managers with performance management, providing guidance on feedback conversations and development plans
  • Help identify training needs and coordinate learning opportunities for individuals and teams
  • Assist with talent review processes to support internal mobility and career development

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Address employee relations issues within assigned departments, providing timely and appropriate resolution
  • Help implement engagement initiatives that meet the needs of your assigned teams
  • Collect employee feedback and share insights with the Head of People to improve the employee experience
  • Promote company culture and values 

Change Management & Team Support

  • Help implement organizational changes by ensuring clear communications and supporting affected employees
  • Assist managers with team planning and structure to meet their operational needs in a rapidly scaling organization
  • Support communication efforts during periods of change to maintain team cohesion and engagement
  • Provide resources and tools to help teams adapt to the fast pace of a growing tech company

HR Administration & Operations

  • Manage day-to-day HR administrative functions including payroll processing, benefits administration, and leave management
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, time off, and other HR policies
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee changes in HRIS- Rippling (new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations)
  • Coordinate open enrollment periods and benefits onboarding for new employees
  • Prepare and distribute various HR reports and analytics to support business decisions
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Support the administration of compensation programs, including annual review cycles

Compliance & Policy Implementation

  • Ensure HR policies are consistently applied within the company
  • Provide input on policy updates based on department feedback and needs
  • Guide managers through performance issues, disciplinary procedures, and other sensitive employee matters
  • Help identify and address potential employee relations concerns before they escalate

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2+ years in an HR Business Partner or similar role
  • Required: Experience working in a high-growth startup or tech company environment
  • Required: Proven track record in full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition
  • Required: Experience with payroll systems, benefits administration, and HR operations
  • Strong ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with changing priorities and rapid scaling
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and talent management strategies
  • Experience supporting high-growth environments and navigating organizational change
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and build strong relationships with leaders at all levels
  • Ability to translate HR metrics into actionable business insights
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and HR analytics tools to support data-driven decision making
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated success in scaling HR processes to accommodate rapid company growth
  • Familiarity with the unique challenges of supporting teams in startup environments
